People abandoning quests?
I'm trying to do the new event quest, and people keep abandoning but ONLY on that quest.
Is this connection issues or something else?

I'm guessing it must be connection issues and you might be exaggerating the story a bit. Are you joining them or are they joining you? If you joined me and fired any sticky ammo you'd get kicked, but I'd at least post that sticky ammo is lame before I kicked you.

I'm not exaggerating at all. I'm the one firing the SOS, and then people join and fight for a bit until one abandons and then everyone else withdraws. Its happened 4 out of the 7 times I've posted the quest.

I haven't had any abandons from randoms. I abandoned one of my own quests, though.

What quest is it? Some event quests require specific setup to finish in a reasonable amount of time or finish at all (*cough* Alatreon *cough*). They might check your gear, think you're not up to snuff, and withdraw. Sieges and MR KT event quests are also notorious about disconnects for some reasons.

Its the new tempered kushala event quest, and SURE I'm using an off meta dragon elemental greatsword build, but it actually does the same damage as the meta raw greatsword build on anything with at least a one star to dragon.

Hmm, that's a pretty basic quest. I don't see why anyone would withdraw tbh.

I'm pretty sure its because nobody knows the arena's weapons do so much damage and shoot off the dragon razor into nothing and waste the one-shot binders and make the fight last twice as long as it should. The dragon razor does 10k dmg alone, while people are fruitlessly trying to wall-bang without wind pressure negation.

I would abandon too, to be honest. Its kind of frustrating when you're trying to farm rarity 10+ decos and people keep missing blowing off a 10k dmg nuke.

I don't mean to be rude but still even here people are completely oblivious to the mechanics the developers want you to use. Its an arena with weapons, learn how to use them and it will save you a lot of time.

Some of them might just be having trouble with their Steam connection right now. I just lost a connection when trying to join someone's SOS call so that might be perceived as me dropping out of the quest as soon as I started.

Now that I remember though, if you get dc'ed it just says you left the quest. If you leave it actually says "withdraw" on other people's ends.

But the quest is pretty short? The runs I've had without people abandoning only took 9-10 minutes without the dragon razor.

It's a connection issue. I also hosted the quest, and noticed my internet hiccup'd while playing a video on Youtube. Then, it sent me to single player mode.

If it says "Player X has left the quest", it's a connection issue. If it's "Player X has withdrawn from the quest", then it's an abandon. Also, I believe multiplayer is scaled for 1, 2 and 4 players, but not 3. That means that if 1 player gets dc'ed in a 4-ppl quest, you're still fighting a monster scaled for 4 people. This might cause some players to leave.

Maybe it isn't until they get into the fight that they remember it's Kushala and his Wacky Wind Fun Time.

Personally I've not the done the quest as much as I otherwise would have simply because it's Kushala. I assume others feel the same.

I hate fighting kushala but this event quest is enjoyable for me. The dragonator + roaming balista is super fun
