Switch Pro Controller not working
I have seen in the forum people saying the controller is working out of the box for them, but the game doesn't recognize mine at all, I even tried one of the community profiles, but the game simply doesn't recognize the Switch buttons, so I ended up just rebiding them to the keyboard and mouse instead. It works, I made a configuration that made the game playable on the controller, but it's not perfect, so does anyone have a clue of how to fix this?

Alternatively, can I just make the game recognize my controller as a PS4 controller? I will do fine with PlayStation prompts on the screen.

Not sure about the Switch Pro prompts, but you can definitely have PS prompts.

Open your Menu > Interface > Gamepad Button > Type 2. Gotta do it from the Main Menu.

Alternatively, you can try this mod.

Are you playing on Big Picture? I suggest trying it if you aren't.

Oh, thanks, but the problem isn't the prompts, it's that the game doesn't recognize my controller at all, so I had to rebind it to keyboard and mouse which isn't a perfect solution. And yes, I did try it in Big Picture mode.

And I already saw that mod too, I may use it, but first I have to fix this problem.

That's odd. Maybe some weird bug between the game and Steam's own controller configurations.

The game has its own support so it makes sense why this is happening.

Use betterjoy.

I remember getting mine to work. Gimme a few minutes, and I'll test it out and come back with info.

EDIT

Yes, it works. You shouldn't need betterjoy at all. I have mine connected via Bluetooth, but here's my Steam settings to get it to work:

I also found that when I install/attach new controllers, for Steam to recognize it, I have to first go into Windows and calibrate it. With Steam closed, I'd suggest trying that too. If type "controller" into the Windows search, you should see something mention "set up controllers".

Hopefully this helps!

Seriously, just use betterjoy. Results in the pro controller working with anything with xinput support.

Just disable steam's switch controller support. It's buggy garbage anyway.
