Builds for Pre-Iceborn
Hi, im a new player i only have about 40hs if im not wrong. I started playing Crossbow but i felt in love with Dual-Blades, now im having a problem checking which stats do i need for my armor. I new there isnt a ONLY and TRUE way to play it, and i should check every stats to know what kind of gameplay im looking for my character. But if someone can help me with some tips and advices i would love it. Mainly i would like to play arround elemental dmg, algo i just kill Nergigante so im looking for a good armor Pre-Iceborn. Thanks and sorry for the misspelling, english is not my native language.

Teostra has good all round damage skills and Master's Touch which doesn't degrade your sharpness when you crit. If you make a crit build around that you can keep your attack up 24/7

Behemoth is like the Teostra armor but way stronger and the most OP set in base game but it might be a lot harder for you to get your hands on because of how difficult he is

Rathalos and Azure Rathalos armor set effects have Crit Elements which makes your elemental damage insane when you pair it with crit but I don't think you can get both Master's Touch and Crit Element with any combination of these mentioned armor sets...

Which is why Kulve Taroth exists, who has weapons with innate Crit Element so you can use both that and fully. But Kulve Taroth is reaaallyy boring and the droprates for the specific weapon you want are super low (they aren't crafted like normal)

I personally would use Teo set with decorations for elemental attack, and then charm + other decorations for more crit. Then I would go for the Behemoth set, and finally would make an attempt at getting the Kulve Taroth weapons and probably get burned out on that and go to Iceborne before I got them.

Or if you're okay with that you could also download a mod that makes Kulve weapons craftable, but I wouldn't because that crosses the line of what I consider cheating

Rathalos Head for attack
Rathalos chest for weakness exploit
Odogaron gloves for critical eye
Odogaron waist for critical eye
Rathalos boots for weakness exploit
Charms for your chosen element attack

this should be suitable for earlier Master Rank hunts whilst you suit up into MR Gear, a similar mix again in MR for the same skills works pretty well too.

I don't think you need to worry about skill stat till IB
Just learn your weapon and equip whatever looks cool because even best high rank armor get obsolete by the basic master rank set

General is to fit Weakness Exploit 3 and Health Boost 3 then your weapon comfy skill (Like constitution for Bow or Master Touch for Dual Blade)
Then the rest is either more damage (Attack, Elemental attack, Expert, Attack on condition like Agitator) or more comfy/survival.

It's no perfect choice for each, some may prefer more evade window, some just get the earplug some may go full attack. But the basic is pretty much as above. You can mix and match any armor to suit you need, although in the story up to Ner' your option is a bit limit.

Only Rathalos chest is quite universal good for almost every build. Then Teostra arm for another point of Weakness. After end the campaign and gather some decolation, then you'll able to fully customise the skill.

However, Iceborne armor are outright better, so don't try to get every armor. Just some decoration is enough if you plan to continue to Iceborne.
