Layered Armor unlocking?

Been looking all over but can't find how to unlock the layered armor versions of normal armor sets. Just started MR and I've gotten really tired of the appearance of an ugly mixed set and don't like any of the layered armor options already available to me.

Are you talking about the Layered Armor versions of the MR equipment? You unlock the access to these only in the endgame, so you need to beat the Story Boss first.

Only available in endgame, more specifically, Guiding Lands.

You can always mod it and unlock the feature right away. And before you ask, there is no ban system in the game. Mods are safe. Just don't be an idiot with them on multiplayer. No one likes cheaters ruining their experience.

Also, MR100 for R12 + R11, MR70 for R10, and MR40 for R9.
All use tempered GL parts and spiritvein gems for certain types

There are also Layered Weapons in the endgame, but if I remember correctly they are also locked behind MR 100.

There are plenty of layered armor from High Rank. You need to get the tickets from their respective event quests.

There are some funny layered armor and some other from HR. All the rest are from Guiding Lands in MR.

My favorite is the Brigand(Guild?) Armor that you can craft from doing HR arena quests, Hunter King Coins or whatever.

My favorite ATM is diver (without helmet) because it reminds me of plessy armor from MHFU

You pretty much have to lvl up some GL area up to 7 since tempered Elden Dragons and Stygian Zinogre starts spawning in order to gather from them the tempered lvl 3 exclusive mats required for highest rarity layered armor, for instance Zinogre or Yian Garuga layered sets. For something like Nargacuga or Fulgur Anjanath layered, which are rarity 10, you need I believe GL 6 for tempered lvl 2 monsters materials, and so on. Lvl 7 cap is unlocked after beating Ruiner Nergigante at MR 100, Lvl 6 after beating the urgent unlocked at MR 68 called "Big Burly Bash".
