Kulve Taroth - Solo?
I've been running through the game with my friends since I wanted to introduce them to world and the three of us have just gotten into guiding lands. Besides the struggle with Raging Brachy, I was looking into working on getting some other weapons I'll need in the future and I know the Kulve Taroth weapons are solid.

From what I know, I still need to do the Siege in HR in the gathering hub to get the weapons themselves and then I have to do the event quest in MR to upgrade the weapons to be usable. With the server issues going on right now I was wondering how feasible it would be to do the current siege solo, duo, or with a trio only. Especially since it's archtempered I was wondering how much of a difference it makes since I personally haven't fought any archtempered monsters yet.

Also if I got any info wrong here please let me know. Much appreciated! :praisesun:

Doing it with a duo or trio is easy enough. During the first phase on your FIRST run, don't bother fighting. Just follow KT picking up her tracks with as many people as possible. That will raise the pursuit levels. Then learn her patterns and hit her in the face with a bunch of balls, and drop the rocks on her head, in your second run. It should be easy enough to break the coating off of her horns in phase 1.

Fight her like normal in phase 2.

In phase 3, there are 3 stalactites that you can drop on her. Each does decent damage and is a free knockdown. Don't ignore them and don't waste them. Get a knock down, get your free damage, then get another knock down.

Last phase is a normal fight.

----
In MR, the fight starts in phase 2, start by grappling her chesticles, then wall banging her. Then it is just a normal fight.

In phase 3, there is only one stalactite. Don't waste it.

In the last area you can break off her horns and they are carveable, and you can also slay her and he body is carvable too.

The MR fight is fairly easy to solo if you keep up the DPS.

well, if u dont care cheesing anything, here goes
1. u need to grind research points (prefereable grinding land bonemas)
2. get you a sticky lbg/hbg with k.o + partbreaker in the build (k.o if your fren dont want to do sticky they still need to hit the head)
3. loot golden head piece and any shiny on ground
4. return from quest(yes u dont need tu kill it)
5. go to elder melder>awakening alchemy>pray to win

side note; u can tenderize both leg, chest and head before double wallbang for free shiny . mounting in area 1 is subtitue if u dont want sticky(partbreak lvl 3 make it a bit convenience)

side note 2; hr kt siege need actual effort learning it fight since u need to break it horn to end the siege. so yeah mr kt are just dps check with no headgame approach, it just hit hard as mr monster

if u cant single run the hrkt siege , just dont bother with it

HR Siege is obsoleted by the MR event. There is no reason to do the siege anymore, other than maybe try it once.

Is Kulve Siege solo doable? YES.
Is it possible to finish it in 1/2 run with perfected builds? I've done it. But you need to know what you are doing to achieve these results, especially because siege rewards are greatly dependent on how many parts you have broken. Do not underestimate the value of a good video tutorial on do’s and dont’s about Kulve Siege.
Why did I do that in solo? Mainly because I was tired of randoms mucking my attempts, lancers poking me while I was in midair, braindead mates who don’t understand/know a thing…
And a hunger for the loot a mile deep. Which is, sadly, always RNG. The Master Rank quest in Iceborne where you kill Kulve is relaxing by comparison.

First: I wish you luck in obtaining the weapon you want during the Siege asap.
Second: if you truly want to farm Kulve beyond reason, pick up your build and split between your teammates. Use your head and know your foe inside and out.
Knowing elemental weakness between phases is just the start: “lightning is best in P1 while ice is best when Kulve loses her mantle” isn’t even entry level for your objective here. Which weapon is best? Solo? Lightning Dual sword for P1: hurl yourself at her chest and motorboat the padding. Weaken the horns: dual slam her against a wall. Use the stalagmites to add even more damage. AND barrels: bring as many explosive barrels you can, using them on her spawn point to add damage while she is stuck in a place.
Don’t fight: cut off her dress.
In a coordinated team? I would say lightning Charge blade, while your mate uses a lightbowgun to stick explosives at her horns. And maybe bring a hammer mate to reinforce the bonking or an insect glaiver to ride the Kulve.
This is in P1/P2, where you also need to pick up ALL TRACKS you can.
In p3 (lava room), there are 2 stalagmites YOU NEED TO USE, to put her down for a moment. Use sleep here if you feel the need for it. Don’t give her quarter. Mount and hit. And hit and hit and hit.
A quality effort should bring you in P4 right at the first attempt: DO NOT FINISH HER RIGHT THERE AND THEN.
Break her tail in P4 and return to base.
This will raise your level for the next attempt and so, the number of rewards you’ll receive when you finish her. In the second attempt, focus on destroying what you missed during the first run.
Finish her off and collect rewards.
Rinse and repeat.
Add supporting abilities where needed, but the focus is damage.

I'm pretty sure you can go straight to MR Kulve. not immediately but likely along with other endgame.

You can make Kulve weapons straight from MR Kulve, they're better that way too at Rarity 12, while upgrading one from Siege will only go to Rarity 11.

Yeah Soloing MR Kulve is possible. first part is a bit annoying but the rest should be fine.
Manticore Sep 9, 2024 @ 4:06am
It's doable (I've done that myself), but mind you it's not very fun..
Even if you can handle the time limit and breaking the parts faster, the fight pretty much is just a large pool of mountain sponge.

MR Kulve in other hand is designed for both solo and mp, but HR Kulve is a siege monster, meaning its purpose is ultimately designed for mp gameplay.

So am I correct in that I have to do the siege to get the weapons first and then MR for the upgrades?

You can go straight MR and use the drops as gatcha tokens hoping to receive back the MR Kjarr weapons you need. All RNG ofc.
MR Kulve is faster if you a good build, while remaining a little more dangerous (we're dealing with a MR monster, ofc).

siege is boring and a slog, the MR one is a super fun fight, especially with others but it's possible to solo, and you can get little pickups even if you end up timing out

she's much more dangerous but that's half the fun right
NoRa Sep 9, 2024 @ 1:58pm
you get rng weapons off the MR parts, only takes a few goes around to get enough for several weapons, you can do 3 at a time so it wouldn't take too long for something you like
bradams Sep 10, 2024 @ 6:49am
Imma be honest, I don't think Capcom is fixing these servers, so if you are asking about doing a boring siege grind solo so you have weapons to use when playing with friends, I wouldn't bother. Odds are you will never be able to connect to them in this game again.
FuyuNoSora Sep 10, 2024 @ 7:58am
Rule of thumb in MH games is to never bother with the multiplayer quests. The quests are designed for 2-4 players and mostly it's with 3-4 players in mind, so doing it solo you are never doing yourself a favour. It's just a boring slog, waste of time and your biological resources. If you want such a challenge, do it, just know it's kind of garbage.

I'd wait and just avoid the siege part. Do the MR event quest solo, with friends or randoms. The siege is a massive waste of time and the only reason you should do it is if you have absolutely no faith in yourself at learning the fight.

I thought you could only get the weapons from the siege, that's the only reason why I was doing it. Wanted a good elemental weapon for alatreon

Oh definitely! I know how you feel though I initially was in your shoes and tried the siege a few times and was really frustrated by it. Then I did the MR event and felt silly because it's straight forward and really just requires a little practice. Hope RNG loves you more than it did me! :)
