What does the dragon element do?

What does the dragon element do? It doesn't seem to work if you compare it to the blast element.

It's an element, like fire, ice, thunder, and water. It's just extra damage on every strike.
Dragon element also comes with the elderseal effect.

From the Gathering Hall discord:
​​​Elderseal is a special effect that dragon element weapons, dragon ammo and dragon pods have in MHWorld. Elderseal has one of three levels of power, and upon reaching the trigger threshold, will flinch certain elder dragons and partially suppress their aura, helping to keep the powers and dangers that come with high aura under control for a while longer.

Is Elderseal worth it?
Overall, no, despite its benefits, elderseal is usually not worth bringing a dragon weapon. Most elder dragons are not weak at all to dragon element, and elder dragon auras can be controlled by simply doing heavy damage to them and flinching them/knocking them over. Thus higher damage weapons are usually preferred for tackling elder dragons. That being said, there are weapons here and there which can balance good damage and elderseal.

elder seal my not be worth it. but there's two end game monster or 3 that can shutdown there power. AT Velkana. Fatalis and if you dont care about element and just for damage on all phase Alatreon.

All elements add bonus damage related to their element. For weapons the value is 1/10 of the strength, most attacks deal around 1.0x of that value per hit (maybe 0.7x-1.5x on special moves), and monsters tend to take 15-35% of that value as their final damage.

Elderseal is a status ailment, much like any other. Hitting a monster with elderseal will build up until it activates its effect. Usually this effect will topple an elder dragon and reduce the strength of their special aura. Monsters have elderseal tolerance just like any other ailment, and will need more hits to topple again.

Did you confuse Elderseal with Dragon element?

Velkhana is literally weaker to Fire than it does to Dragon.
if you mean they use Fatalis weapons which has dragon element, it's because raw, not the element nor elderseal themselves.

If not, who are you crediting for this?
AT Velk is literally just fire, Fatalis is just DPS checks and head break, and Alatreon is just the opposite element of whatever it starts off on
