MHW = World or will it be Wilds?

Was just wondering this, but as a community how are we going to abbreviate the upcoming Wilds? As it would be the same World, both becoming MHW. Will we change World to MHIB for Iceborne DLC, which ended the game. Or will there be a new thing for Wilds so we can properly differentiate between the games.

I'd say MHWs suits it better, or just MHWS in all capital. So if/when DLC comes for Wilds we can continue with MH+ DLC letter(s)

Just internet things, when actually speaking it's definitely easiest to just pronounce the entire word/game. But for the internet it always has to be shortened when people start to use whatever abbreviation it might be in Forums/Reddit/YouTube etc.

+ This was also just a 3AM thing I thought of while watching some info on Wilds.

just say wilds, i dont see the issue either, its literally just 2 extra letters from the acronym

MHFU or FU for short, is not it's actual name. You know that, right? It's name is Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, And MHGU, or GU for short, actually stands for Generations Ultimate.

Even if we went by that same convention MHW would just become "W", and MHWI would just become "WI".

I don't really get why people so hung up on adding the I. Majority of the time if we say mhw it implies that expansion is included in that term anyway. Mhwi could be useful to describe wilds, but that's already taken to have a second completely redundant abbreviation for world.

That's like Saying MH3 is the same as MH3U, MH4 is the same a MH4U, or MHG is the same as MHGU. People differentiate because there are major differences. Like how MHW didn't have the CC, WE had different Values, Guardian and Defender stuff didn't exist, MM functioned entirely differently, etc.
