SnS is very flexible build wise.
Elemental is good (Focus primarily on the quick slashing attacks), you'd probably run either:
5x Safi
3x Safi + 2x Raging Brachy
3x Safi + 3x Teostra (needs Safi Weapon with 'Teostra Technique')
(The first 2 are probably best done with Kulve Taroth's 'Kjarr' weapons)
Raw/Status is good (Better for general purpose), you'd probably run:
2x Raging Brachy + 3x Teostra
It's great for support-oriented builds, you'd probably run:
4x Kulve Taroth + ? (Probably best done with one of the R8/R12 'Taroth Slicer "X"' weapons)
3x (Brute) Tigrex + ? (Probably best done with a Safi Weapon with 'Tigrex Essence')
It's even able to use Frostcraft surprisingly effectively:
4x Velkhana + ? (Probably best done with a Safi weapon with 'Velkhana Divinity')

But I really enjoy a frostcraft setup on my SnS. Safi blast SnS with valkana awakening, garuga boots, and the other non-valk piece is flexible. (Or you can do 2p brachy bonus for agitator secret) SnS has the fastest frostcraft charge time (yes, different weapons charge it at different speeds), but FC buff won't apply to a full perfect rush combo, so it's not optimal. But it is fun.
