Safi'Jiva set is optimal for damage, since bows rely heavily on elemental damage.

With decoration you want to:
- Add Mighty Bow
- Add around 2 levels of Constitution and Stamina Surge
- Max out your element
- Add Normal Shot and/or Spread Shot
- increase critical chance and damage as high as it's reasonable

Full Safi Jiva or 3 parts Safi / 2 Raging Brachy for
blast Bows and Kjarr Bow's are some potential choices

a alternative can be

Silver Rathalos for True Elemental Crit with Elemental Safi Bow's
But this deals currently a bit less damage then the safi version

Correction: Add 2lvls of Spread shot and 1lvl Normal Shot
spread>normal

to add to what people said, AT nami armor is good with a kjaar weapon if you don't want to run safi health drain.

Silverlos is still the best unless you run Kjarr. IF not, then Safi is the best.

depends of where you're at but i would assume you own the iceborne

elemental wise it's either

4 pieces of silver rathalos for True Critical Element pair with Safi Bow
or base game bow if you don't care about farming
downside is you kinda have to be minimum MR70 to fight silver rath

3 pieces of safi and 2 velkhana (Critical Element + dragonvein awakened)
you can velkhana set right after killing her and safi if you bother to farm / finding session

-this set can compete with silver rath it'll lose by small amount of damage while it has free build in qol skill like quick sheath, blight resist, evade window you looking at losing hp every shot until 8th hit connect

or if you have Kjarr Bow from base game and upgrade them with MR Kulve mats

you can use 5 pieces of safi with them true dragonvein awakened is flat amount of elemental and affinity increase and Kjarr bow had critical element build in

if you just finish iceborne then go with 2 piece of nami and 2 piece of velkhana for now go until you got silver rath or safi

there's exception is blast bow using either safi shatter bow or lightbreak bow (raging brachy)
full atk awakened/augmentation

using either 5 pieces of safi or 3 pieces of safi+2 raging brachy

blast bow is only use against monster with bad elemental hit zone value and only in solo scenario in mp you still wanna go elemental for those monster

namely : ruiner nerg,zinogre,stygian zinogre,kushala,velkhana

i don't really recommended namielle divinity skill set bonus unless you're just finishing iceborne campaign

the set bonus isn't really that good you need 7-8 hits for it to proc and it only added flat amount of elemental damage (150) and last 45 sec

while safi dragonvein/true dragonvein awaken added same flat amount of elemental but it also increase your affinity by 20/40 and it active with just drawing weapon

prioritize elemental get it to 6 then crit eye, crit boost,WEX

if you had mighty bow added it in if not it's ok

you need at least 1 constitution minimum in that case you wanna always eat black belt and dash juice to dance with monster

spread/power shot and normal shot/forceshot are bonus damage having them is nice

most of your shot should be normal shot (rapid) but combo finisher is always spread so chose wisely

you can added it something that makes your bow hunt more comfort i personally always had health boost 3 at least evade window 2-3 and 1 evade extender

good luck

Then there is of course, the mighty memey Frostcraft + Crit. Draw Dragonpiercer option.
So 4 pieces of Velkhana armour (or, ideally, 3 Velkhana + Safi Bow with Velkhana Divinity).
(My set ended up using the Seething Bazel Beta Arms and Kulve Taroth Alpha Legs)

Max out Crit. Draw, Crit. boost, Piercing Shots, and Special Ammo Boost, then throw on Bow Charge Plus, Any survivability you want and crank up your raw damage as much as you have space for.

Then 'Draw -> Fully Charge -> Dragonpiercer -> Sheathe' your way to victory.

what about legiana / shrieking? it gives bow max charge +1 and focus to charge faster...

Legiana armour for bows is kind of like Uragaan armour for shields.

It has a semi-critical skill as a set bonus however that same set bonus is also available as a single decoration (the 'Mighty Bow Jewel' for Legiana's set bonus). If you don't have the decoration and are about midway through Iceborne's story quests a (Shrieking) Legiana set is probably alright. Late game, aforementioned sets probably still simply overpower it even without the decoration.

And the thing with Focus on bow is you shouldn't really be charging your bow using the method effected by Focus (standing/walking and holding the 'shoot' button). You should be charging by firing several uncharged shots in succession, or chaining uncharged quick or power shots with dashes, neither of which are effected by Focus.
