I'm not sure exactly which loot pool Plunderblade pulls from but my guess is it's the Carve/Capture (since you can rarely get stuff like mantles, which are a part of that pool from it) and and the Tenderplate is not part of that loot pool.
Gotta bust that head manually. Or, if you can't manage the full break, partially breaking it should yield 1 Tenderplate in your Part-break rewards.
Break the face.
20% chance from rewards at the end if you break the head one time, and 80% from carving the head after breaking it twice. the other 20% are a chance for a gem (but a tenderplate is better than gem)
I used to Solo it with GS (Draw attack, Full Lv1 charge, and sometimes TCS at the head). But that's no where close to the ease and comfort of LBG sticky.
This. I had an SOS where the LBG sticky user KO'd the monster 3 times, giving the rest of the team more than enough time to whale on the head to break it.
The other option is to use GS snipe tactics with either the TCS or the draw charge slash (running the classic crit draw/punish draw skills). It works well since the hitzone for the head can be reached while it's standing, and shara is really easy to predict. If you're consistent, you should be able to break the head before it dies.
If you still need help btw, feel free to add me, I can lend a hand with my GS, and more tenderplates can't hurt lol.
i'm playing a lot Shara just because his fight is fun and i mainly play bow against him nowadays
and i always break his head and get tenderplate because his head is main weakness that you'll always focus it as a bow
EDIT: I thoguht you could normally carve just once, I was wrong. No need for geology.
The 3 monster that gets my sticky treatments are:
1. Shara Ishvalda - Only in multiplayer mode.
2. MR Kulve Taroth - If you want the extra 7 curve in a 13 minutes game.
3. Kushala Daora - lets face it, no melee would enjoy a monster that flies 75% of the fight.
(At least Rathalos are constraint by stamina.)
