I don't think so.

I'm not sure exactly which loot pool Plunderblade pulls from but my guess is it's the Carve/Capture (since you can rarely get stuff like mantles, which are a part of that pool from it) and and the Tenderplate is not part of that loot pool.

Gotta bust that head manually. Or, if you can't manage the full break, partially breaking it should yield 1 Tenderplate in your Part-break rewards.

No.
Break the face.

no.
20% chance from rewards at the end if you break the head one time, and 80% from carving the head after breaking it twice. the other 20% are a chance for a gem (but a tenderplate is better than gem)

Hit just the head until it breaks, it takes away like 80% of his health anyway and he dies shortly after.

The hardest part about breaking the head is that if you don't focus on it you'll most likely kill it before the break. You'll either want a ranged weapon and/or to abuse the clutch claw whenever possible.

Solo Hammer with part breaker 3 can eventually break it with just clutch claw attack, but it’s super tedious. I’d recommend learning just the basic of a range weapon like bow or even better sticky LBG for it.

The easiest weapon to work with is LBG Sticky + Part Breaker.

I used to Solo it with GS (Draw attack, Full Lv1 charge, and sometimes TCS at the head). But that's no where close to the ease and comfort of LBG sticky.

This. I had an SOS where the LBG sticky user KO'd the monster 3 times, giving the rest of the team more than enough time to whale on the head to break it.

The other option is to use GS snipe tactics with either the TCS or the draw charge slash (running the classic crit draw/punish draw skills). It works well since the hitzone for the head can be reached while it's standing, and shara is really easy to predict. If you're consistent, you should be able to break the head before it dies.

If you still need help btw, feel free to add me, I can lend a hand with my GS, and more tenderplates can't hurt lol.

You could stop there and you basically listed every monster in the game. It's such a shamefully cheap weapon I'm surprised people aren't too embarrassed to use it, let alone main this garbage. :steamfacepalm:
TormentedSalad May 16, 2020 @ 2:58pm
why do people even need tenderplates sharas weapons werent even that good before all the updates do you need them for layered or something?

Damn. I forgot Shara even existed. I fought it like twice and never again lol.

depends on weapon you're using but you wanna break his head

i'm playing a lot Shara just because his fight is fun and i mainly play bow against him nowadays

and i always break his head and get tenderplate because his head is main weakness that you'll always focus it as a bow

Also by equipping 1 geology, you can carve his tenderplate (the part of his face that breaks off) TWICE, in essence you Double the tenderplates.

EDIT: I thoguht you could normally carve just once, I was wrong. No need for geology.

Not every monster required you to break its head for its unique reward.

The 3 monster that gets my sticky treatments are:

1. Shara Ishvalda - Only in multiplayer mode.

2. MR Kulve Taroth - If you want the extra 7 curve in a 13 minutes game.

3. Kushala Daora - lets face it, no melee would enjoy a monster that flies 75% of the fight.
(At least Rathalos are constraint by stamina.)

You should be able to carve it twice normally (like Xeno's tail), no geology needed. At least, I've been able to.
