If you're post story, you basically need to unlock tundra in guiding lands. but to do that you need to unlock volcanic in guiding lands.

No i mean what kind of armor or weapons do i need. I have done the recon but i want to be prepared for the actual siege.

Reading up on guides online is the most important thing.

You need to know what weapons to use, where to attack with said weapons and the mechanics of the fight.

As long as you have post story gear upgraded as much as you can with two specific Anti-Safi sets (one with Part Breaker for Round 1 and Pure DPS for Round 2), you'll be fine.

Once you've farmed more sets, it's recommended to have multiple weapon sets so you can help break all parts in Round 1.

Any endgame armor with high fire resist, so Teostra, Gold Rathian, Silver Rathalos, Raging Brachy, Kulve, etc armor. Mixed and match for your preferred playstyle. Always eat for Elemental Resist up (L) or Felyne Safeguard. For decos, Weakness exploit, Health Boost and Part breaker maxed out is a must.

Any endgame rare 11 - 12 weapons should be fine, except for sleep weapons. Safi is highly resistant to sleep. Cheese weapons are sticky HBG/LBG. Wings can only be broken by ranged weapons. GS, IG, lance and gunlance imo are better for this fight than others as you can use them to break everything except the wings. If you play weapons with high mount value and aerial move, I recommend bringing Glider mantle for more mounts. With IG I can get at least 3 mounts per fight. If there are other aerial attacks in the team, sometimes we get 5 mounts. Bow is absolute trash. The only thing you can break with bows is the wings.

For items, bring Lifepowder, Dust of life and ingredients to make more of them. You'll need it for your teammates.

Once you've got the Safi weapons you like, remember to bring it with you to fight her so you "awaken" them, increasing your odds of getting good upgrades.

Partbreaker is mandatory. His beams are Fire damage so you can bring some resistance if you are still learning. If you can manage max Agitator, Affinity, and Crit boost on your gear with Partbreaker you really have the essentials.

The tail cut is worth a lot of points so bringing a cutting weapon with high reach such as IG or GS is a good idea. It's also the area he attacks the least if you are the only one hitting it, which is often the case. Great way to get a chance to learn the fight while still contributing something important.

Partbreaker 3 and the highest damage set you can fit it in, both mandatory, as the siege is about breaking parts and get points; Farcaster, in case you know you have no boulders and the wipe is coming; Dust of Life and combinations, mandatory, since someone with Safi's Ire will get eaten eventually and this is the only way to save them.

Safi Beams are Dragon, not Fire. Fire resist is still useful to not die after a grapple.

What you need : a good damage build with Health Boost 3 and Partbreaker 3.
Weapons and general strat :
- ranged weapons should focus on breaking Wings and Back
- slashing weapons should focus on cutting the tail
- blunt weapons should focus on breaking the head
- if you're done with your breaks or you can't reach them atm, focus on breaking backlegs, then frontlegs.

General mechanics :
- Area 1 : try to hit the boulders if Safi is under them, and deal a lot of damage when Safi is on the vine ground. Safi starts in the middle of the area and don't move much, unless you flinch him. To push him toward an environemental trap, attack from the opposite direction again and again.

- Area 2 : ledges and slopes make mouting easy, but you should save it for area 3. When Safi is doing his nova, hide behind the pointy rocks. Catch the aggro by slingshotting Safi if you have a shield weapon and/or know how to tank. Ranged weapons are also kinda nice for tanking. If you're tanking, try to not make Safi turn around, keep walking and kite him, but don't go for his hindlegs or tail, that's not helping. If someone else is grappled, wait for his health to diminish two-three times, then throw your Dust of Life.

- Area 3 : same as Area 2. Before the first nova, you can lure Safi near a wall to easily mount. In general, wait for Safi supercritical state for any kind of CC, sleep, para, mount...When supercritical, Safi's chest glows. Also, Supercritical is the only time when you can hit and break Safi's chest. You want to focus on the chest if your team is also focusing it (and it should). If you deal enough damage to the chest, you can get a down, which is huge. If tanking, you can get Safi near the green glowing ground patches and detonate them for 1000 damage, and a flinch if Safi is not in the middle of an animations. Two flinches from these and you get a down. Better to wait for the supercritical state for the down.

There is one weapon I wouldn't recommand, and it's Dual Blades. Sadly, the lack of reach is really crippling for Safi. SnS is also quite "meh" but can at least run a support build and take the aggro and tank, and help cutting the tail more easily. Finally, Bow is not good, Safi has no elemental weakness, and wide area attacks. "But Aquashot..." Aquashot LBG is good because of the firerate, not because of the Water damage. If you really want to run an elemental build, run Dragon (for Elderseal), or a notoriously powerful elemental build (Ice CB comes to mind).

Final notes :
- generally, Safi can be killed in 2 or 3 quests, so don't leave the session if you fail the first run. A 1 quest kill is VERY unlikely in a non-optimized group. 2 quest kills are good, you should have at the least the tail cut and the four legs broken by that time, that's the minimum for ok rewards. 3 quest kills are meh. 4+ quest kills, there is something wrong, it shouldn't take that many.

any one of these builds first - https://imgur.com/a/zMH5yKy

then you can build one of these once you can craft safi armor/weapons to farm faster- https://imgur.com/a/PSWBdSm

Surprised to see so many positive response after OP posted so many troll baits.

Anyway, get Health Boost Lv3 & Part Breaker Lv3 and just have fun.

I mean, its not like the people doing Safi at this point knows what they are doing.
So might just well join the gang.

(It is better to have no expectation, so there will be no disappointment).
