if any of this 3 appear at launch, the game launch is absolutely going to be badly received by the fans considering the price of the game
and since this is the 1st Bridge to Gen 6, they really should prepare the game at the best state for launch to met the big expectation from majority of the fans
world was the first MH game on pc and was hyped as hell
now wilds is the first MH game with crossplay and true open world and is pretty hyped up as well as far as i understand lol
mhw was basically a prototype game for testing pc platform, i have zero doubt wilds is going to be a far higher quality game in every aspect, but quality doesnt equal popularity, its all about the marketing for whether or not itll be as impactful
i expect it to have definitely more sales than mhw did but maybe there will be less on day 1 launch or preorders, idk i dont know what the pattern of day 1 sales across the series looks like but in general the numbers only go up
I'm also interested to see the locales in full, as I like both the forest and the savanna so far
I believe it's already confirmed that Wilds will have underwater exploration, just not combat underwater
... Besides, I'm pretty sure the only fully underwater locations in 3rd gen were arena-esque locales for the likes of Ceadus, no? Deserted Isles and Flooded Forest only have half a dozen areas between them both that are underwater. Either way, 3rd gen wasn't even scratching the surface of what they could have done with underwater combat/exploration imo
Well, that's at least something, it's so boring without water battles and underwater swimming. Water opened up a whole new game, it's a pity it was left behind in the dust, because of some players disliking it.
Shintaro Kojima: "If the game already has ground-based battles, then [adding underwater combat] is like making a separate game. It’s difficult. It’s really really hard.” (translated from his Tweet).
With the higher variety of weapons and moves, as well as more gimmicks like claw or focus mode in Wilds, its understandable why they cant just add underwater combat without a very high amount of dev time dedicated solely to it.
