Changing MHW to DX11 fixed it for me and I have not crashed since

Edit: I've now more or less tried every trick in the book and nothing seems to work. I'm almost tempted to say this feels like Capcom is tiring to get consumers to move on because this game is no longer profitable for them, but that would be too easy of an assumption to make.
The only way to test this is playing on different PC (with different spec would be nice) to see if it still freeze up on the said scene. If it goes smoothly, then something is wrong with your PC built. If it do freeze up exactly on the same spot even on different PC/Laptop (either it has latest spec or inferior than what you had), well, guess the game got itself bogged with modern GPU/CPU configuration, no way around but to wait for update.
I had this issue back then on my laptop but for bizarre reason, it fix itself after I give it second try.
