Best way to farm investigations (Base Nergigante)
It seems like no one actually knows the fastest way to farm investigations, and the older videos are clearly outdated, they talk about afking in nergigante's arena and letting the footsteps stack up, but that just doesn't work. The wiki says that monsters are categorized into 3 groups, with nergigante and rajang being part of the same group, so what I do is spawn a rajang in the guiding lands, and because he spawns a massive amount of gashes, I assume this is the best way to get investigations for nergigante?

The method you've described at the beginning absolutely works, I did it myself a long time ago. And while it might not be the fastest, it's extremely convenient. Every couple of minutes you go out and gather tracks with ghillie mantle, then go back and afk for a few minutes, rinse and repeat. You can farm dozens of investigations with minimal effort while doing something else.

the unique tracks the monster leaves behind literally despawn and get replaced, so you cant afk anymore, I've seen it myself while playing

Tracks are still plentiful even if some despawn, new ones are created.

you are aware that nergi is a hr only monster while ruiner nergi is the mr iteration locked behind mr100, same as vaal hazak vs blackveil vaal, jho vs savage jho or bezel vs seething bazel, meanwhile both legiana appear in mr. capcom logic at its best

so trying to get hr nergigante investigation from an mr rajang is pretty pointless
so better go for an hr quest to collect these tracks

I fail to see the problem. If the old ones get replaced by new ones... just pick up the new ones? Or gather them more often? Literally how is that an issue at all? Unless there was a patch in the last year that changed this (which I highly doubt) this works perfectly fine.

the wiki says nothing about rank meaning anything, nerg, ruiner, and rajang all are in the same category so getting tracks from any one of them could give you an investigation for any of them, at least thats what the wiki says.

the problem is you and others are saying to afk, which, you cant, they get replaced, you are idle for at max a minute if nerg decides to not do his animation. This afk method doesnt exist or if it does its extremely slow. getting a maximum 2 unique tracks every minute seems alot worse than this older method of waiting 15 minutes and scooping up 30 of them in the same spot.
Im not saying theres a problem. im just saying that method clearly isnt the same as it used to and am wondering if theres anything faster

Your ♥♥♥♥♥♥ if you want to farm base game investigations because how the system works. It's possible but it really sucks, learned that when I replayed world.

If your hunting his tracks so you can unlock the op stun immunity mantle because the dlc makes you wait until its over, you will have to do base game investigations.

im crown hunting, i heard you can just do guiding lands for other monsters but ofc nerg is base game only. from what im hearing i guess just actively being behind the monster and scooping footprints is the best option sadly

Oh then sorry to be an even worse bringer of bad news but world crown spawning is extremely ♥♥♥♥♥♥. The dlc did fix this part alittle in the end.

Base world crown spawning needs very specific rewards part of the investigate to even have a decent chance at a spawn.

yeah, the wiki says at least a gold and silver, idk if more golds actually help with the chance though
