Advice against Raging Brachydios ?
Do you guys have some general advice against this guy ?

Is watermoss really the only way to stop it from ejaculating all over the place whenever I hit it and does blast resist do anything against blastscourge ?

Max blast resist so you don't need to spend half the fight rolling the status off. Tenderize the legs so you can get more damage in and trip him. Don't neglect using traps; it's free tenderize/damage.

use big shield and max blast resist the fight will be a breeze.

Eat food that boosts your invulnerabilty time while lying on the ground. And don't stand up right after it hit you once, because most of the time it'll follow up with 1-2 more attacks. Use 'superman dive' if you are it's main target and not sure about exact attack patterns.

As far as I remember, dealing ice damage against his head and hands will reduce the amount of blast spots he will create.

You can use flash pods or life powder when one of your fellow hunters is in trouble. Traps and smoke bombs are also usefull in this fight to get a window to tenderize.

Ice bow and repeatedly slamming its head against the wall is what I consider easy mode to hunt down r. brachydios.
After… many hunts with an ice CB I grow tired of using fire mantle to nullify explosion buildup, or rolling 5 times to avoid explosion.
Ranged hunts with an elemental ice bow, avoiding the hassle that is its spicy ketchup are quite more relaxing.
Or an HBG with sticky/spread 3 if you know what you’re doing.

Yea .... ranged weapons are really good vs this guy. Otherwise you have to invest on a load of skills + learn the patterns of the puddles.

yes. a couple things make the fight a lot easier.
DBs with a marathon runner/dash juice + wall bangs gets the job done pretty well, and I don't even bother with blast resistance. But that is far far too specific and assuming a good run on my part.

In general, as others have: Your best bet for any weapon is just max blast resistance, tenderize, wall bangs, and as dumb as it sounds "don't be afraid". The second phase is scary as heck the first time around imo, but its not too bad once you get used to it. Have the temporal ready or be ready to superman dive when the eruption comes.

Imo his final phase is way easier than his normal one, cuz instead of taking a spam of explosion damage like from the normal slime all over the place, the slime turns into a lava like hazard area that deals dps instead, it only becomes dangerous when rage brachy detonates it and ngl its prty easy to dodge his slime detonation (and the fact he also damage himself at that part)
Just make sure you always dodge his slime and don't forget to get rid of the Blastscourge by rolling (dash juice will help keep ur stamina).
Slap some gobbler (speed eating) if u are actively taking dmg and are not that great yet at dodging his attacks

Rage brachy attacks are very wide and most of the time you'll find yourself afflicted by the Blastscourge just from him swinging around his arm and jumping at you, and also when the slime in his body is active, try your best to dodge immediately after u (intentionally or accidentally) damage the part that have the slime on, cuz if u hit that part the slime will drop and quickly explode underneath you

You also have to be extra careful when he is enraged. Most rage Brachy attacks are very similar to normal brach, but with an extra punch on the dmg and added variations of moves.

Brachy moveset in general is prty annoying, considering he is actively shifting & dodging around the hunters and actively dropping slime here n there, then launching itself at you. Brachy actually have a prty solid opening, its either when he slam his head to the ground or when he is licking his knuckles with the slime (this is when the slime on his body is gone)

For melee, aiming for his feet is the easy way but you can still go for the tail too, the challenge is when u aim for the head or his knuckles, since this two parts is the one that constantly drop slimes

Ranged wpn is prty chill since u have a prty good range between him and the hunters so hazard area of the slime and getting close to rage brachy is not that big of a problem since you can aim the head, tail,or knuckles safely at range (don't forget to tenderize) however that ranged dmg penalty is absolutely going to slap u in the face when u get exploded by the slime (most cases for ranged will be insta kill)

I would say atleast blast resistance despite not having that huge defensive advantage, it will reduce the duration of the Blight. If u still don't have much offensives deco's, slotting in Blast resistance is still viable.

I think putting max stun Resistance (steadfast) is wayyy more useful since blast dmg builds up a lot of K.O dmg to the hunters, so in rage brachy case u absolutely don't wanna get stunned 😅
And Vit Boost 3 is very mandatory againts monsters that deals huge damage like this guy

Unsure what weapon you're using but as a Switch Axe guy, I oddly found dodging directly underneath him through his legs when he does his charge and swing was my best defense to not get hit by that attack. It was a game changer when I found that the best method of defense was to be beneath him hitting next to his legs or next to his back legs.

In terms of getting the slime off of him, iirc you can just hit the slime off his parts, again with the switch axe, after he'd miss me I'd roll forward, strike, knock the slime off, and then roll away to avoid the blast.

Full blast resi and Evade Extender is king in that fight.

Thanks for the advice guys, I feel a lot more confident to take him on now.

Blastscourge is gnarly, even with 2/3 blast resist it's too much of a pain. If you absolutely can't part with enough space to fit 3/3 just use resuscitate to at least turn it into a stamina/iframe buff while it's active.

Once you know the fight, try to beat it without just to feel the difference. Pretty challenging even when I did it with SnS and loads of weapons have a tougher time dealing with status.

Use health 3, defense 5, divine blessing 3, blast resist 3. Easy mode.
