dual health augs are the simplest way to clear MR main quests without massive material investment.
You don't get health aug in IB till after 100MR anyway. i'd say it's more than worth it, especially to establish your first stickygun set.
You'll quickly want to replace those HR weapons and armor for MR ones. And please, you're talking about "massive material investment" but health augments are so much more tedious to get for the weapon you want than anything else in MR.
dual health augs to build first mr stickygun set is the meta progression tactic. if you like less effective methods, i'm not going to argue.
