LET ME SOS IN THE EXPEDITION WHERE THE MONSTER IM HUNTING TURNS UP
Hunting the seething beetlegoose and the stupid turd bag flew off on its own after spending what seems like the last hour beating its ass and constantly being interrupted by suprise tigrex and brachys.
Absolute waste of time.

Dung pods are underrated.

You can use them to scare away most monsters.
i've never fired an SOS flare, but afaik you can SOS an expedition.

optionally you can get your friends to join you for any investigation, once completed, use the top option to return to camp, and you and your friends will be in an expedition together.

and as well, if you're not using an investigation to fight seething battlegoose, you'll have to take care of it in under 30mins, thats about the time it takes for a monster to leave the area in an expedition, give or take.

so if you're not able to do the damage, consider reviewing or upgrading your equipment or playstyle to finish the hunt before it leaves the area.

Expeditions usually feature multiple opponent battle, as you well found out. Earplugs is almost essential for multiple monster fights in MR, due to roar comboing and other monsters roaring while another is attacking you. tremor resistance and other defensive skills to prevent being knocked around might be useful too.

but well, you don't lose much by fainting in an expedition, so throwing the fortify decoration onto your character and dying twice gives you that 45 minute stacking buff, which is nice to use, might be all you need to finish off battlegoose before the time limit, too.

Man I love turf wars, it's free damage and distraction for your main target. I'll even use dung pods offensively to keep grouping them together if they path the same direction, and if I want the other monster I'll hunt it too.

I don't stack earplugs/windproof because I get by with my shield to block roars and the rocksteady mantle for when things get really crazy with double enrages. You can alternate mounts to be invulnerable and basically pilot the monsters against each other, I really dunno why no one talks about how cool it is.

Using dung pods as an offensive weapon to group them together - great tactics dude! A dung pod a day keeps the doctor away.

One can also wallbang the monsters into each other!
Gotta love the Elder's Recess. Monsters have this amazing habit of NEVER leaving each other alone, especially in the magma caverns. Dung Pods are double edged swords in that area because while they can chase off the other monsters harassing you and your target, they'll almost ALWAYS go to the next area your target will go in the break of a fight. Sometimes the monsters will come right back if they have a short linger timer. Invader monsters like Banbaro, Savage Deviljho, and Rajang have very short linger timers.

While Seething Bazelgeuse isn't an invader, he still works off normal Bazelgeuse's AI, which means even in a fight, he doesn't stick around one place for too long. Like normal, he's got a bad habit of stalling you out with the constant exploding scale drops, so I can see how he got away. What you would need to do in future hunts is attack him in an isolated spot like the highest point on the map. Only other monsters that go up there are Rathalos and Stygian Zinogre, and Kushala Daora only goes up there when he's close to death. This will minimize encounters with passing by monsters at best, and using the right damage skills plus using the Clutch Claw will have you take him down fast enough to keep him out of those caves. If he goes down into the caves, your chances of other monsters interrupting you goes up real fast.

If you're unlucky and get both Rathalos and Stygian Zinogre on the map with him on an investigation, you'd best dump that investigation entirely. Not worth the headache if you can get better monster rolls in other instances.

I can see it being a bad idea depending on weapon choice, like bow for example maybe, just too chaotic and you are too squishy, don't really wanna stack earplugs and the like for that weapon etc. I'd probably still do it myself just to try to line up dragon piercers that travel the length of two brutes at the same time or something, damn would that be satisfying.

If you can avoid Bazel's bombs he's a huge ttk increase at that stage of the game, low rank to early high rank you are pretty unlikely to out dps the monsters themselves imo unless this is a repeat playthrough and you really know your stuff.

I don't back off much, circle behind whichever monster is not looking at you and keep attacking. I took down a Garuga and a Zinogre last night in guiding lands and was landing perfect rushes with my little stabber and shield that were hitting them both in the head at the same time while they mangled each other, it's a lot safer in there than it appears sometimes.

Even monsters like deviljho and rajang that tend to one sidedly win their fights can get pummeled by the interloper if you disrupt them hard enough. In fact Deviljho and I are buds, even if he probably doesn't think so I'm always happy to see him.
skill issue
sound like you are trying to kill something badly undergeared, if you need an h to kill
expeditions where designed with a hidden timer, while you can cart as often as you want, while optional quests and investigations has different rulesets

there are mods available to remove the timer if you struggle so hard
