Skills like Peak Performance, Agitator, Divine Protection, etc trigger a different sound that will always notify when it procs.
You can try changing your in game audio setting "Dynamic Range" to "Wide Range". The notification sound gets softened compared to others with that setting.
Or you can ask google (I pulled this up in a 10 second search) Active Skill Popup Removal [www.nexusmods.com]. It's dated but should work. If you try it out let us know if it does.
This skill isn't a problem in combat when everything else is going on, it's a problem when i'm havin a quiet moment in between hunts and it keeps pinging me for taking half a sprint step to the next gathering node.
I've had all the other skill notifications too, divine blessing barely registered mid combat for me, maximum might is the one that finally broke me lol.
Last thing I can think of for sound is if someone is running a system wide audio compressor messing with the intended audio balance of the game.
For your average person wondering: audio stuff like this can drive a neurodivergent person insane. So I'm glad that tools like these exist if for at least that reason.
Wow I must have muted that, Along with the annoying assed NPC's a LOONGG time ago.
They went pretty far on options and the ability to disable UI elements in this game, they even have colorblind options, though admittedly those are never actually better for my particular brand of red/green deficiency, at least the effort is there.
Someone had to be aware that their chat spam for skill activations was gonna annoy some of us, but no options made it into the game, and from searching for a solution I noticed it's a problem for some in Rise too. Haven't played it myself yet, so I have that to look forward to lol.
they probably muted their settings early on and forgot that it's a QOL that neededto be addressed later on because it didnt bother them anymore
