Other than that it's only the question whether you want to challenge yourself with hardest base-game fights. They become pointless once you start Iceborne.
If you just want to be finished with the game start iceborne, if you wanna get the most playtime out of the game I'd recommend doing endgame stuff first
WTF why? Go iceborne, it's okay.
Same thing when people complain that they have to farm crafting materials because they never upgraded the garden, or it's a pain to keep fertilizers up because they never unlocked soft soil, or their canteen rarely gives them the full 50 extra hp because they have no fresh ingredients, or the only help their cat brings is the vigorwasp because it has no other tools, or they can't use raider rides because they never befriended the grimalkyn in each locale.
And good lord, people, unlock your camps! The only thing that sucks more than helping someone fight Nergi and they've unlocked neither of the other camps in the locale, is watching that same pitiful soul die 3 seconds before the end of the hunt, and not make it back in time to carve because they never unlocked them.
Why buy a game if you don't intend to play it all, I mean sure you can go back and do Basegame stuff with mr equipment, but at that point you could just cheat it in
I have full Rarity 8 armor (which I assume is basegame max?) and Rarity 7/8 weapons (depends on which one I play), and I'm HR 53. I have Vigorwasp and Flashbugs maxed out, currently leveling horn too.
I play 90% CB, sometimes Hammer and occasionally SnS. I like the idea of a raw damage builds, is worth getting Nerg Gamma armor and THEN move to Iceborne etc. or should I just go into Iceborne with what I have now? I have to admit I'm enjoying the base game still so I'm not feeling the need to start Iceborne (the thought actually seems kinda daunting since people say it's at least as long as the base game).
