Unlocking mantles when going straight to Iceborne?
I started Iceborne almost immediately after beating World, didn't do any endgame stuff really at all. I see a lot of the mantles are unlocked by doing certain quests that haven't appeared for me yet, will they show up if I do Iceborne stuff or do I need to go back and grind High Rank?

Do not rush this game. Do the quests for food/mantles they are important. Do the same thing on Iceborne to upgrade mantles and get a better food.

Mantles are unlocked by doing specific optional quests.

Yes but those quests are unlocked by doing certain endgame activities like hunting a certain number of tempered monsters or fully researching a number of monsters. Do those unlock through playing Iceborne or only World endgame?

I've done all the quests to unlock things that are available to me, but a lot of the mantles have certain requirements to unlock by doing endgame activities in World. I don't really want to spend too much time in World endgame when I have Iceborne to play.

as long as it is the right threat level tempered etc., MR monsters count.

Yea that makes sense, I just have to get through Iceborne before I start seeing tempered monsters again, so it'll be a while.

pretty sure you get the quests for the various mantles once your hunter rank gets high enough? so the missions would unlock either way, but you still have to do them.

Keep an eye out for quests that have little speech bubbles next to them. It means they unlock something.
Some rewards are quest chains, hidden behind ordinary quests, talking to various NPCs, and exploring the map in expeditions. So I guess just do everything, haha.
