I currently have 195 hours in this game. I am currently in Iceborne dlc. I didn't fight 3 monsters in total as of now. 2 monsters which are from collaboration event and 1 siege monster.
I don't consider myself pro in any shape or form. It takes me about 15-20 minutes to hunt a big monster.
The base game also has defender gear which is hated by older players cause how easy it makes the game. Fyi defender gear was given just so player can rush the game and go to iceborne dlc. I didn't even use it.
Most mission's fail requirement is generally fainting 3 times. Meaning a monster has to kill the players 3 times for you to fail that quest. You get a companion palico which literally heals you.
What more do you want? You are wasting your own time if you make up your mind without even playing a game thinking that you need to be a pro. It doesn't get easier than this.
Though honestly I doubt you are going to play of them anyway. This seems more like a whim rather than interest.
Monster Hunter Rise is 100% solable, it doesn't have any of the forced multiplayer only monsters that World has. Yes, some monsters might be difficult, but it's not something that you can eventually overcome with perseverance and skill.
World has all these tools at one's disposal, and for the most part, you can solo the game - provided you are half-decent on the hunt. The problem is that a portion of the game can't be played solo, and while not required, it still kind of sucks to look at a quest, go "sounds cool", then never play it because playing online is a lottery and playing alone is punished.
Rise lacks these crappy gimmick hunts, leaving only Rampage quests which can be done alone because there are NPCs - it's akin to a Zorah Magdaros hunt where they do help, just without the exploding magmacores or the endless climbing. Plus, there's far less of the badly designed hunts - the ones where attacks create permanent hazards (tornadoes...) and attacks are poorly telegraphed (Lunastra...)
I can also definitively say Monster Hunter Rise can be solo'd because that's what I ended up doing - every possible quest including events. The odd quest can be a challenge to do alone, but it can be done without micro-optimising.

IMO if you're new to franchise, i recommend starting with mhw, i still feel like its easier to learn the game and mechanics and such. but Rise might be a better overall experience, with more QoL and better npc helpers
might want to check out dragons dogma too. its not super similar, but its enough that i can point at it and say "you like MH? you might like this game too!" The first game is on sale super often for like $5 or something so you can check it out for very cheap too
https://store.steampowered.com/app/367500/Dragons_Dogma_Dark_Arisen/ i think this is the first time i've ever looked at the store page for it in like 2 years and realised it isn't on sale, lol. it might be on the switch
edit: Why'd i get a clown reward for this? XD
'cause people are hating on DD2 and obviously that means that you're not allowed to enjoy games that you enjoy, if they don't like it.
