great girros large crown
i have almost every low/high rank gold crowns both sizes, but i cannot for the life of me get great girros large. ive tried investigations, the event quests, sos flares, using shock traps to tell the size, etc. ive done the effluvial event quest 30 times in one sitting just now and have done that several times over the past few weeks and got nothing. and thats the event quest alone. theyre either way too small to be a large, or look as to clearly be very large but not even be a silver. i have all gold crowns for both sizes in effluvial opera, and the mini for great girros but the biggest ive gotten which was by accident is a silver. i have great girros' research level completely full from just discovering, trapping and killing it so many times from the times i thought it could be a large crown alone.

how did you obtain this crown? i am beginning to give up. i thought if id have any trouble with any crowns, it would not be this cheeky little lizard. ive found the crown hunting process fun until great girros. any tips? help me. please. i want to enjoy this again.

How did Vaal Hazak go? Nergigante?
If the monster doesn't have an event quest it's just down to RNG (it's down to RNG either way). It can take you 2 attempts or a hundred. You either quit or keep at it.

What you can do to make it faster is to use an overlay that will show you the crown size.

Effluvial Opera & Rotten Canzone both have a 12% chance for a Giant Crown.
Kinda funny how RNG works sometimes.
Guess you just have to keep the grind going.
If its only Girros left just demolish him in Effluvial Opera and return from the quest afterwards. Shouldnt take longer than 2-3 minutes.

Or use an overlay to scout the crowns.
