What's the point of awakening alchemy?
It seems to always result in high rank type weapons.

Kulve and Kjarr ones are there as an alternative to going back and farming HR ATKT.

There's a Safi one as well but that ones is less useful considering the RNG to get specific weapons is massively reduced compared to Kulve's siege.

You can upgrade the kulve weapons to rank 12
I sold mine as I forgot about that, but since I have tons of mats, a good thing to have with the kulve event quest going on.

They do the best elemental damage even unaugmented but they have few if any decoration slots. They also often have 20+ defense boosts built in.

Kjarr DBs and Safi 5 set are best friends.

For the most part: extremely high elemental damage, built-in critical element, generally decent white sharpness and affinity, and despite being rank 12 they can also utilize custom augments for +50 elemental damage on top of what they already have. I don't know if that's an oversight but it's pretty useful.

Kulve Taroth weapons have best elemental damage and built-in Critical Element. The only way to get MR Kulve Taroth weapons is to upgrade them from HR Kulve Taroth weapons.

Though, now that fatty armor provides so many slots, it's easier to fit free element, this actually means that the Tarroth weapons are the new meta for elemental damage :)

But kjarr Safi is only about 3% behind, so take your pick ;D

Usually, they do very well - but you should check a wiki or calculator to compare stats and see how well a Kjárr weapon performs in each respective weapon class/element category.

For example, I use the Kjárr Glaive Paralysis - it has white sharpness, 899 Atk, 10% Aff., +20 Def., and Critical Status.

That's the highest Raw of all paralysis IGs, and the nearest competitor - Acidic Glavenus IG - has blue sharpness, 0% affinity, no defense bonus, a sealed element, and no Critical Status.

However, certain elemental Kjárr weapons may be slightly outclassed by endgame monster weapons [like Frostfang Barioth for ice, or Alatreon for dragon], depending on the armour skills you pair with it.
