These are the useful skills usually used. Tbh i used Tool Specialist 5 for the Rocksteady + Glider combo to maintain flinch shot rage & mount twice only for openings. Take this as a guide & feel free to mix it up to create your own build. Everyone has different shortcomings. Goodluck o7
Otherwise try comparing the Alatreon SnS to other Dragon element dealing weapons: not sure how it compares to other SnS's, I just know the Alatreon Hunting Horn is one of the highest dragon element dealers of the Hunting Horns, so if I extend that logic to Swords and Shields...anyway what else.
Heat Guard keeps you from taking tick damage on the fire snot puddles he leaves in Phase 3, extremely helpful if you're a hair's breadth from carting yet still alive...and then get on your feet while standing in said fire snot puddle.
You're using a melee weapon. Invest in Evade Window to pull off sickening Elden Ring/Dark Souls esque close-call dodges on this dragon, and maybe you won't need Divine Blessing Secret after all. I just like it as a safety net...
Phase 3 will power up his fire attacks significantly enough to be really fatal if you don't break his head at least once. Put points into Partbreaker.
To make it easier to weaken his hide with a SnS, put in the Shaver jewel.
Now less build advice, more strategy advice: his flamethrower/fire cone attacks leave his head vulnerable to softening without you getting blown off like when he hocks fire loogie balls. Punish accordingly if the head's already softened, prepare to RolliePollie out of dodge if he's shooting the firecone because he tends to leave an explosive fire blob when he's done!
