Decoration Drop Rate Overhaul Mod Question
Hi,

I want to use the mod mentioned in title. But it has two versions:

https://www.nexusmods.com/monsterhunterworld/mods/2162
https://www.nexusmods.com/monsterhunterworld/mods/1979

For the life of me I cannot figure out the difference. I figured somebody who is knowledgeable could tell me. Could you please have a look?

Thanks,

They both adjust the same values, so you cannot use both. You need to pick one. The first link one sounds like it adjusts the values to a ridiculous amount (very OP) while the other one is probably a bit more tamed.

I would not suggest any of these, but if you want one, you gotta ask yourself, "How cheaty do I want to get?" and then decide from there.

Thanks. I was really wondering if the first one was not for Iceborne.

You can use the Save Editor IMO, it has a specific section regarding Decorations. The rng i saw from melder and the drop rate + the gotcha (steamworks) machien felt like some grindy Korean mmo from back in the day.

I want it to be a bit grindly but not insane like vanilla. This is why I want a mod. I don't want a save editor.

The thing is, you can probably use this mod only in solo play. You can not use it with a friend or in multiplayer else the server will/could kick you out.

It is okey. I want to solo everything. Even without palicio. So is what's your opinion on both mods? It first one too cheaty? Is second one kind of ok?

To me as long as you are using this in solo play and not obscuring other players, do what ever your hearts desire is.

Mods are lame.

The shop table "mod" is probably the easiest and safest way to get decos. you use it to get everything while offline and then change the shop table back to normal. I did this after playing the PS4 version for 400+ hours when the PC version came out. No way i'm spending another 330 hours to get core gunlance decos.

The rng for decorations is atrocious. Like if you are looking for specific decorations using the tickets from the steam works you will need hundreds of them if not thousands to finish sets. Which is nightmarish amounts of grind.

The decoration grind in this game is one of the most horrific grinds I've seen in awhile. IM glad in rise they let you just craft decos its easier to build around non optimal charms than it is to mash together non optimal decos.

I've used the first mod since s tart and enjoyed the game a lot. You just get a lot of "good" deckos without excessive grind, but you never get everything you want. Maybe like 60-70%.

It never felt unbalanced or boring.

IMO, there is no point in griding in 2024.

I'm sorry, you didn't ask that, my bad. Yes, both work for base game + Iceborne. It mentions IB further below in the description as well.

You are right, the one from the melder for decoration is even worse, i/we need so much gems "sacrificed" to get them. Let alone to get my hand on the set's for melee like velkhana, safi. No wonder that people call it Grinding lands and clocking 1000 - 1500 hours of playtime, and big part falls to grinding. It is not fun/skill having to kill Valkhana for 15x time for those Gems to craft the set. (just for example) But i deduced those (1000-1500h) post times are coming from console players since they do not have access to mods.

This is misinformation. The game has no mod detection mechanism.

Apperently it does, there is a notification/warning for people who opt to download a trainer, the game will boot you out if you use it in online play with others.
