How to beat alatreon?

Me and my friends just reached alatreon but hes like much more dificult than saffi and any other monsters that we've faced so far, like not only he has a lot of AOE damage but he has one shot skills, I know that we have to give enough elemental damage so it doesnt oneshot but we have tried but it still impossible, im using a water cb, my friend is using a frost barioth longsword and we have also a light bow gun user, any tips?

you have multiple options to kill him
could use brute force raw dmg method in solo and simply cart through the judgements to kill him
could smoke bomb cheese him with sticky guns
could fight normal with high elemental weapons

If you're getting one shot, make sure you all have health boost and then consider augmenting your armor (which may or may not require you to get to MR100). As for failing to meet the elemental threshold, his front legs generally are decent to aim for. You can break his horn in dragon active to prevent him from going to Ice which would make your LS friend useless for elemental damage. If you can't manage that, have them swap to a water or thunder LS.

Use level 3 blight resistance otherwise most hits put dragonblight on you which prevents your elemental damage from counting. This also protects you from burning and ice debuffs. Makes it much more doable.

max water attack for you, max ice attack for the LS user, make sure the lbg user is either using water or ice ammo
use 2 pieces of velkhana armour for critical element (i'm assuming you're not using kjarr water)
use temporal mantle at the start (i hope you 3 have it, it's MR), you will tenderize the front legs, the LS user will clutch the head and turn alatreon 3x to enrage it, save rocksteady (again, i hope you have it, it's MR) for dragon phase when he's flying so you flinch shoot and bring him down when he's not enraged (this will do massive horn damage)

while in fire mode you all will have to attack the front legs all the time, since you're using CB you have to use savage axe mode, try to aim at the front leg the LS isn't attacking and do a lot of upswings, do axe attacks in the head during dragon phase as well

I'd recommend everyone using ice weapons and breaking a horn during dragon phase. If you are 3 I can help out

What is killing you the judgement or his normal attacks?

You say you guys are doing enough elemental damage, but are you sure? Bc he has this animation where the handler says "his power has been suppressed" x3 = max suppression of element.

Do we know how much elemental damage you have to inflict to make them topple with 3 players? I was told its 1.2k for single player

So long as you all have ice weapons, it should be quick. I'm not too sure on the require elemental damage, but my bros and I, a trio team as of right now, are able to topple him in a couple minutes in, killing him at 10-15 minutes.
Ofc, we were using maxed out elemental ice kjarr and weeb sticks, sooooooo ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Instead of getting technical you should read my previous post, there were great tips there
if you're using ice and water + a good build (or skills that increase elemental damage like water boost and critical element) getting the topple is the easiest thing in that fight

It depends on the weapon, they have modifiers for how much of their elemental damage contributes to the topple:

The best hitzone is 22, so really you need to do 5x the stated damage.

Purple sharpness gives you an elemental multiplier of 1.25 vs 1.15 from white sharpness.

Elemental damage you get from a crit with critical element also varies by weapon:
1.50x: Greatsword, Hammer, Hunting Horn, Heavy Bowgun
1.35x: Longsword, Dual Blades, Sword and Shield, Charge Blade, Switch Axe, Lance, Gunlance, Insect Glaive, Bow
1.25x: Light Bowgun

I use frostcraft GS and find it pretty easy. I've never used hammer on him but I'd guess it works well too spamming the standing charge 3 clutch combo.

Have you considered taking in another player? 3 Player and 4 Player Health scaling is same. So, its actually tougher with 3, and easier as Duo.

It mainly depends whether or not they're coordinating well with one another and their weapon choices/elements; having a fourth person would help, but going in 3 player is possible
