Rajang? Rajang's a normal fight, got the damage of an Elder Dragon but definitely doable. Rajang has quite low HP but it does pack a punch. Be cautious as this also has a good amount of no wind up moves. Just try to stay on the sides of its back, keep moving, and you should be relatively safe. Rajang gives a very interesting experience I must say.
Rajang can be cheesed with Sticky.
rajang and pickle are build for single
I'm just preparing lots of Traps, Tools, Explosion Barrels and every single Buff Items and Ammo.
I always bring everything. Heck place every single Explosive Barrel, lay a trap and go Kaboom example.
Also, there are monsters that are immune to traps (all elder dragons, Zinogre can't be caught by shock traps while charged, rajang can destroy traps when he isn't enraged iirc) and someone laying out traps against those monsters might make it seem like they are just wasting time that could be used to deal damage.
In general, less is often more and it's better to use items like that sparingly when playing in a team, unless you know that your teammates appreciate that type of gameplay.
Having said that, HBG is still one of the better damage dealers, hitzones be damned. Spread 3 is doing 25-30 damage per pellet on a softened head, meaning more than 200 damage per second when I'm able to fire uninterrupted. The difficult part is getting close and staying close. But if your friends are good enough at the game that they can tell you how to play, then that shouldn't be an issue for you.
BTW, it should go without saying, but every weapon is viable against every monster. When people blame others for a bad hunt just because of their choice of weapon, it usually means that the blamer is actually the one who sucks.
If using HBG against Behemoth, bring quick sheath so that you can get behind the comet before ecleptic meteor hits.
