Multiplayer progression
I'm planning to start playing through MH world with a few friends and I was just wondering how the progression exactly works for multiplayer. The goal is to only play when we're all together so we'll have the same progression

I remember something about you needing to see certain cutscenes before being able to join a mission but does that mean that we need to complete a mission for every person, so that each of them can initiate the mission ? So like doing the urgent mission for person 1, then person 2 etc before being able to progress?

Yeah, it's pretty annoying

Basically, the main story missions, you have to do most of the exploring and find the monster by yourself. Then it starts a cutscene, after which you can invite other players or leave the quest and restart it with them.
All the optional missions don't have that limitation, but as you need to progress the main quest to unlock those, you'll spend quite a bit alone every few missions

The easiest way to go about it is for every player to start a story quest at the same time. The first players to watch the cutscene can leave their own quest and join the last player to finish the quest together.

Thanks for the reply. So practically, one person in the lobby would go search for the monster, find it, leave the game and then all 4 of us can play it, or is it all 4 of us have to find it, leave the game and then we can start our quest together?

I'm guessing it's the latter option?

Ah ok so basically it is the second option that I described above... well that really sucks

It's the latter, but only three need to leave and can join the fourth.
