How much prep do I need for Kulve Taroth MR?
I mostly play solo so I never bothered with sieges when I played before and now that I've come back to World. From what I've gathered, Kulve Taroth weapons are genuinely some of the best element weapons.

How much preparation do I need for Kulve? Do I need a dedicated build or just learning the mechanics will do? I actually hate being a liability hence I don't play with groups that much nor did I bother with this siege.

Is the bare minimum to do this raid something like "must have r. brachy weapon" or something?

It doesn't require anything particularly special. MR kulve isn't really a siege like its HR counterpart. You just fight it through a series of arenas kind of like raging brachy.

Zero.

I mean you still want an endgame build, but I soloed her with lance, which is probably the lowest DPS weapon at the end of Master Rank.

The only prep I would suggest 100% is bringing a rocksteady mantle and/or a temporal mantle for the initial interaction.

Would the non + version of any of these mantles suffice? Aren't kulve taroth weapons like below safi/fatalis in terms of power? So I might as well learn the moves and join a group if I want to get better elemental weapons i suppose.

The non + versions are the exact same you just can't slot decos into them.
Kulve weapons are THE elemental weapons , outclassing safi in most cases.

Fatalis Gear tends to be the best over all, because it is the end of the end.

MR-KT gear tends to be the best for elemental

Safi tends to be the best for Raw and for Mixing and Matching set bonuses you could not get otherwise.

The hardest part of MR-KT is the first area (which starts in what was the second area of the original). You don't have access to the cannons and the rocks. So you have to do enough damage to get her to go molten then shed her mantle and move to area two before she leaves the area.

The best way to do this is to tenderize her breasticicles then wall bang her. To prevent her from knocking you off of her while you are tying to do the deed, you need to wear protection. So you cover your head with one of the two mantles mentioned, and they don't need to have the decos to perform this function:

High damage, health 3 and high fire resist and you're good to go. The first stage is basically a wall bang check. Every hunter should try to nab a double wall bang first thing. It makes good progress on the horns, which are a huge loot grab, and the first stage dps check is much tougher than the later ones. Late fight tenderizing isn't very important (other than activating weakness exploit) because the hit zones get much weaker toward the end.

Lance mounting is pretty tricky. The back is beyond leaping distance, and the head frequently lifts up out of range. But one mount is pretty doable, save it for the later stages when the armor is much squishier.

MR Kulve is quite easy 2-man, except it does a ton of damage. Solo you need to play well to pass the dps checks.

In first part has quite bad hitzones. So stuff like phial, shell, sticky, cluster with partbreaker are really effective.
In second part moves a lot, so either a fast weapon, hit and run or CC. Partbreaker is a must overall since it drops loads of materials.

master rank kulve is just a hunt, no siege gimmicks. this time around its raw hitzones are VERY high--- even dual blades should use something like the lightbreak twins or fatalis dual blades if you plan to go after the forelegs, chest and head pretty much exclusively.

you'll want a damage focused build (so stacking affinity+ crit boost as usual), with health boost 3 or fatalis gear's hp bonus so you don't get one shot by a couple of moves and have time to use a max/ancient potion if you get caught inside magma breath. not much else to mention.

You can superman dive and be invulnerable. Laying face down in lava makes it hurt less, apparently. Then if you don't touch any buttons, you will stay laying down longer.

Be prepared to eat ♥♥♥♥ the first few times you fight her. If you have Raging Brachy gear you should be completely fine, but as long as its somewhere close to that ballpark you should be able to manage. Worst case scenario if you don't feel confident, wide range 5 with tigrex gear and keep the others topped up by chugging potions lol.

Try to break the horns in phase 1 and 3 for some extra carves.
A good strategy could be something like: Phase1, soften head and some parts, flinch shot twice, if you can CC with stun or reach the head with H in the slope or ... just do it. Phase 2, soften head, flinch, drop pillar. Phase 3, same thing, then use the remaining CC like mounts, para or sleep. The last phase is quite a bloody mess.
