Fatalis solo is super frustrating damn...
Not looking for any advice just wanted to vent a bit lol, I don't think I struggled like this in all of Elden Ring, including Malenia, same with any Souls game or Souls like, love a challenge, this guy is up there as top 5 hardest bosses of all time IMO.

The monster hunter games have always been harder than the souls games.

if godzilla and fatalis ever fought, it would be a close match and that's why fatalis scares me.

Tool specialist 5 helps when you are not an expert at his fight. I noticed that I deal most damage with rocksteady and temporal mantle. I mean it's hard to even touch him in his blue flame phase without mantles when you haven't broken the head in the first place.

Yeah he's extremely tough, getting your first clear on fatty takes a good bit of time (speaking from experience, took me like 4 days just to get my first kill when he released). He tests your ability to prep, build properly, learn openings, positioning, the works. Everything in a hunt that can make a monster hard, is what makes fatty hard.

But ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ if that first kill doesn't feel great. Keep going hunter, you'll kick his ass with time.

I've completed most probably over 100 games (blind), most of them on the hardest difficulty and this was the hardest boss I've ever encountered, if one does not count Super R-Type, and that game is harder than very hard, it is unfair hard. Thus I never touched it on harder difficulties, only on easy and I don't plan to for now. I think Fatalis is on that edge of almost unfair hard, it's the hardest a boss should ever be.

It's not even the hardest fatalis in the series The harder variants from past games were indeed unfair in power but doable because like normal fatalis they are readable.

...which ones exactly?

Fatalis has always been one of the harder monsters in the game, you just have to keep trying, change up your build a bit to make up for whatever weaknesses you're showing, and try again. He is an end-game monster for a reason.

Oh didn't expect this to get replies still, yeah I beat Fatalis ages ago. Solo'd him many times since, actually easy once you know it lol. Was a pointless frustration post.

No worries lol, still valid to this day.
But yes after you learn him he gets easier, as with any other monster. Everyone struggles with a monster until it's learned, then it's just easy sauce.

While I don't know which fatalis they mean specifically, there is the crimson and white versions. There are also all the frontier versions of all fatalis which just go beyond in power.

Iceborne fatalis is more fair than old gen fatalis. It has more forgiving hitboxes and you aren't fighting the jank of the older controls then the white and crimson variants just ramp it up. All around I find world/iceborne to be one of the easiest monster hunter titles. It only has a few fights that are surprisingly hard and that is due to them having multiplayer mechanics like Extreme behemoth. Camparing iceborne to say gen u just the ex deciant hunts alone have iceborne crushed difficulty wise ex deviant astalos haunts me to this day.

a game where you can do a boss within 3 to 5 min you can even brute force the fight or use broken build to a 10 to 20 and if you're not prepared or just bad luck 40 to 50 min boss fight even if you cheese the fight if rng hits you ggs. why compare?

It really depends on weapon choice and experience. I've been able to solo Fatalis with the Hammer, Switch Axe, and Sword and Shield so far, but I have a lot of hunts with all 3 of those weapons and I've killed Fatalis about 75 times already.

Build for defense, eat for Safeguard, and know your openings. Fatalis punishes you for being greedy harder than any other monster in the game. Especially on slow weapons, you NEED to play careful.
