While I don't know which fatalis they mean specifically, there is the crimson and white versions. There are also all the frontier versions of all fatalis which just go beyond in power.
Well, he cant possibly mean the 2nd generation fatalis' - those are a joke in comparison.
Build for defense, eat for Safeguard, and know your openings. Fatalis punishes you for being greedy harder than any other monster in the game. Especially on slow weapons, you NEED to play careful.
