Monster Hunter: World
Switch axe build tips?
Can anyone give me tips on what the SA meta is? are elemental weapons worth using with this weapon? and what skills should i focus on with it. The last time i used this weapon was on a 3ds years ago, but i decided to pick it up again, and i'm loving it so far, just clueless as to what to go for.

Uh, yeah, that's kind of what I would imagine endgame is

Interesting, how do you call everything after the story ends and credits roll?

I am assuming by story you are referring to Shara Ishvalda? Then late game. The final story boss is not the final boss (MH is not that kind of series), so you wouldn't call beating it being in the endgame. Your MR cap is barely unlocked at that point after all, and you haven't even fought the first DLC monster at that point. In fact, it's guaranteed you don't even have a single MR augment yet since they need GL materials (which only unlock after beating the story boss).

Endgame in World specifically would be when you're facing against the Black Dragons or AT Velk.

Alright, then replace what I said with late game. :)
SA is split pretty evenly between raw and elemental tbh, I'd use whatever you like better and or whatever you have available. Elemental builds usually take a bit more effort to set up, but honestly just do what feels right.

I would not run this thing without quick sheath tho, it has some slow ass put away animations xD

When you are at the absolute end of the game like me you only use the Fatalis Switchaxe since it's the strongest for everything and Kjarr Ice and Kjarr Fire for Alatreon. Everything else is basically irrelevant if you are going for the meta. If not you can play what you want to anyway.

What about the Alatreon Swax? Pretty sure it's best in slot for dragon attack (not sure how it stacks up to Fatalis raw though)

Alatreon Swax still loses to Fatty Swax, but it's the best weapon against Fatty himself till you beat him and unlock his gear.

Velk gamma boots gives you 2 Quick Sheath for free so that's one problem solved

Iirc there only 2 monsters really weak against dragon element in iceborne. Blackveil Vaal Hazak and Fatalis. (sure there is rathian, pink and so on but I’m not counting those)

For all the rest, dragon element probably not be the best option. It might be good enough though.

Fatalis switch axe on the other hand, is the best raw and power phial.

Keep in mind that Fatalis is weak to dragon mostly on the head. Fatalis SA will still win on the chest.

Sounds like a plan, focusing on one build makes it easier, thanks for the tips!
He's wrong, even in end game, you'll want to focus Raw/Blast. As for Seiges, Kulve and Safi both offer powerful weapons, but the strongest Switch Axes will be from monsters as you progress through normal quests. What is your current HR/MR?

I'm barely at hr15, but i want something to go for when i hit master rank, something that would help me out in the long run, though i'm not too familiar on what skills help SA the most.

It's not, even in World, Raw dominates elemental SA. Quick Sheath is okay, but if you can learn monsters, it's useless.

If you really wanted to, you could grind for the Luna/Xeno Switch Axe, that's a good option at that point. Jho SA is another one, Black Blos is good for 3rd. When you hit Iceborne, you could just go for Jagras again and it'll get you going for a while.

Awesome, sounds like a plan then, the only thing i didn't recognize on your previous post, for crit build, MM3, what skill is this?

Max Might 3.
honestly just go with whatever you see till you hit fatalis. Your dps is 80% depends on your gameplay anyway.
