Switch axe build tips?
Can anyone give me tips on what the SA meta is? are elemental weapons worth using with this weapon? and what skills should i focus on with it. The last time i used this weapon was on a 3ds years ago, but i decided to pick it up again, and i'm loving it so far, just clueless as to what to go for.

So, it depends, do you want to go pure meta? Because that's just Raw and Blast. Diablos, Deviljho, Ruiner Nerg, Gold Ian are good choices, it'll depend where you're at in the game.
For skills, your standard Atk +4 with WE3, CB3, MM3, basically your run of the mill critmeta clout chaser. Some good skills to keep an eye on, Power Prolonger is good to help maintain your Amped State for longer, and Evade Extender 1 is a good skill if you have a hard time keeping up with monsters, as they do move A LOT in World.

Safi dragon swaxe, until that just go iron tree. Beat story go right into safi sieges.

Order to do list.
1. Max tool specialist
2. spam zsd
3. beat the game

Well, i just want some tips on what i could go for, i'm not really at end game yet, was wondering if elemental weapons were worth it at all for SA, and what skills i should go for, raw or high dps looks good, idk how good blast would be in master rank.

Looks easy enough, not familiar with tool specialist though.

The sieges remove all reason to interact with the smithy for a majority of players. Just stick to the iron base tree, finish the story, and join the sieges. Kulve and Safi weapons are basically the best things in the game for the effort to get them..

Elemental weapons are great, but the main endgame activity of world is expeditions where you fight random monsters. So you can change your weapon for every single monster which can be fun but extremely tedious. It's alot more relaxing to just use a raw weapon and not have to return to camp so much.

Sounds like a plan, focusing on one build makes it easier, thanks for the tips!

He's wrong, even in end game, you'll want to focus Raw/Blast. As for Seiges, Kulve and Safi both offer powerful weapons, but the strongest Switch Axes will be from monsters as you progress through normal quests. What is your current HR/MR?

If you are only interested in meta, JPM already said everything. You can skip safi and kulve and go for the strongest raw SA in the game.

I gotta say though, I think other SAs can also be fun. I remember some hunters using exhaust phials in multiplayer endgame and I like paralysis SA since my first hunt with one.

Exhaust in endgame is horrible, wtf. Elders cant be exhausted, which is like, 90% of the end game, and with Clagger, exhaust kinda got shafted more.

You still have a lot of non elder monsters in guiding lands for instance. I asked them the same thing and they were aware.

Well, OP asked for meta, and exhaust is definitely not the meta.

Silver and Styggy, unless youre grinding Gold for status augments. Unless I'm missing something.

I think we are using different definitions of endgame here. You are assuming regions are already maxed.

Uh, yeah, that's kind of what I would imagine endgame is

Interesting, how do you call everything after the story ends and credits roll?
