How to change gender?

I hate all the female armour sets. They all look stupid. Male sets look cool.

I redeemed the character voucher but have no option anywhere on the main menu or in char select to change. There is a way for me to edit them in game, but I cannot change gender there. Help?

When you redeem the character voucher it will take you to the character creation screen the first option is male or female before it takes you into the more detailed changes.

I don't have a way to redeem it. I got it at the start of the game, but I have no option to go back to edit anywhere. There;'s no option on the main menu like the internet tells me.

it is in the charecter select screen there is a button prompt at the bottom of the screen.

Like I said, multiple times. There is NOTHING there. at all. Anywhere. I've looked up screenshots of what it should look like, It's not there.

i also talked to the housekeeper, I got the voucher when I started the game. Went to house for the first time, and it said "1 character edit voucher".

ok i can't get a screenshot to post but on the keyboard when you are in the charecter select screen press the N key on your keyboard and that will do it you just have to select the option to edit your charecter and not your plaico.

you might have to claim it from the Addon content screen in your housekeeper options.

There isn't one there, but I got the message that I received one when I first went here. It's the free one everyone gets

I vaguely remember getting one of those and using it a few years back. It seems unlikely only your version of the game would not have that feature, perhaps we are overlooking something simple. Could you post a screenshot of what you are referring to?

Okay, so if you've gotten the voucher from the housekeeper, then you can go to main menu -> Click Start Game -> DON'T click on the save file, just hover over it. At this point, you should see Character Edit Voucher and Palico Edit Voucher counters below the save files. This will let you know that your voucher has been redeemed properly. Hover over the character you would like to edit. At the very bottom of your screen, you should be able to see which key to press to Re-edit your character. On keyboard, this key will be 'N'. If all else fails, take to Nexus Mods and download a character editor mod. Hopefully you get this sorted

You can also create a new character in game, then use Appearance Editor to copy the looks from one character slot to another. There is a pinned post on that mod page explaining the process.

Always back up your save first.

Don't normalise paying for character edit vouchers.
