As for what my reason for kicking someone out of a hunt that joins to help out is, there's a few very simple ones:
1. I didn't intend to open up the quest to just anyone but forgot to set it to "accept manually", in this case the player gets the boot instantly.
2. It's a high value investigation with a single faint for the failure condition and I, again, forgot to set a player limit or forgot to change my settings to accept players manually. Same result as reason 1.
3. The person makes my experience significantly worse with their presence, i.e. a longsword user that constantly trips me up and even seems to follow me when I try to focus on another bodypart or a bow user spamming the metal ball drop. In that case, they get a chat message telling them to watch out for their teammates and if they don't, it is once again the boot.
