Thoughts on slinger being in Wilds?
I personally enjoy the slinger and even the clutch claw and it seems as though the slinger will be back in wilds

I don't mind the slinger at all, but the clutch claw need some serious rework if they want to bring it back imo.
Iceborne was too much focused on it, so monsters felt like they had too much health to compensate for how powerful the clutch claw is, range was pretty short as well and the hitbox of it wasn't really accurate.

I just don't want tenderizing to be mandatory like iceborne .

Being a SnS and DB user I felt the clutch claw moves were well implicated

I hope they bring back the slinger since it is miles better than what we had back in old gen.

I like the slinger well enough. It made sense, but it also never felt game changing. Just a cool extra feature. It didnt make or break the hunt, except in the case of craftable ammo, like flash pods, etc, which were already in the game anyway, just with advanced range because of the slinger. The clutch claw on the other hand, I dunno. I haven't played Iceborne yet, and so far Ive never really gotten used to using the claw at all. I usually just forget its a thing, for most hunts and then the one or two times I do remember, I end up doing something wrong and it doesn't work like it should.

I play cb or gs, it's not as fun imo. Doesn't always feel fluid to me, and like i've said iceborne monsters have bloated hp to compensate for how much damage you can get out of it.
Wall slam and tenderizing are mandatory if you want to do good, and I don't like that.

Hopefully it doesn't come back, the "changing ammo" thing was silly, and having to do that while in a pin even worse, and going around as "spiderman" was meaningless when it came to the hunts, just another 5th gen gimmick.

Wallslam is awful, something that definitively shouldn't come back at all, turning monsters into pinnatas is a big no...but on this note, the tenderizing mechanic...it is a pain but it has grown on me, as long as it lasts for a decent amount of time and it's done without diapers, it can be quite cool, gotta work the mechanic but it's not completely awful, could make for a nice alternative skill instead of a main gimmick.

I think the slinger would be fine, such a minor addition, helps you aim flash/dung pods and all the slinger ammo had some neat bonuses.

I can agree with the wallslamming. It's SO infuriating having a monster be so close and not hitting the wall then becoming enraged.

I think the slinger and clutch claw go well together and take a decent affect on hunts. Being able to make the monster drop slinger ammo that staggers has helped me a ton with shooting the monster when I know I wouldn't be able to dodge the attack.

I have a weird memory about World, it's about being able to sidestep with the Gunlance without any attacks because of the Mouse Aim thank to the Slinger, was it a dream... i played GL a lot in World, but didn't in Rise because of that :steamsad:
Hope the slinger make it availabe in Wilds

I loved the slinger and clutch claw. I hated tenderising.

This.

And tenderizing would be fine as an OPTIONAL was of making non-weak points into weakpoints.

Like if you are using DBs, and you bounced on a Monster's back legs and they are a bad hit zone, then tenderizing those back legs could remove the bounce effect and then make them count as a weak point for you DBs.

Tenderizing, however, should NEVER be a requirement like it was in IB.

Tbh I've seen a lot of people complaining about how utilizing the clutch claw was a requirement and maybe I'm just acoustic and clicked with the clutch claw well but I never felt it was an annoying or frustrating feature.

The problem with tenderizing in IB was how required it was. You needed it to get full damage, even on natural weak points. Weakness Exploit was specifically nerfed and could only get back to its old values following a tenderizing.

Then to make matters worse, it broke the flow of the hunts. You had to open EVERY SINGLE HUNT with the claw or you were just nerfing your own performance. That's not even mentioning claggers.

Ig its just one of those situations where some people saw an issue with it and others didn't. Again I personally had no issues with the clutch claw. Curious if there will be a different gimmick in Wilds.
