I personally hope they will weight more heavily into ecosystem simulation like world did, which seems to be the case with that sudden storm in the trailer, but it's still a guess.
What I do hope that comes from Rise would be the followers, as it was nice having AI coming with you on quests, even if it doesn't replace a player.
I also liked that NPC had names, instead of their functions.
I liked the alternatives move-set of some weapons in Rise like for the Great Sword, Charge Blade or Switch Axe, so I hope they make a come back too, but I don't have much hope as it was a gimmick of Generation before coming to Rise.
From World I would also like the multiplayer lobby, which was much better, and the nervosity of some monsters, like arch-tempered Nergigante, or coop multiplayer quest, like that gold one I forgot the name of and the Safi.
What I do hope we will NOT see in Wilds, is: Clutch claw (more precisely the tenderizing), all the counters for all weapons from rise, the randomness of talisman/jewel/decoration etc..., rampages, running after foot mark for fifty quest for that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Rathian, those horrendous characters that make no senses (eyeing you, handler !).
As for what is in neither games, I hope for a big open world, but we'll see about that, I hope, like a said, for more ecology simulation, for stronger monsters (as in, more move set, intelligence, etc...), new weapons ?, bigger lobby ?, more than 4 players quests across a big map with several monsters, etc...
But in the end, we only have a trailer, so we will have to wait before having more info.
Followers, Switch Skills, and Skill Swap would be things from Rise I'd love to see return. They really did add depth to combat, as well as the many intricate skills they added, like the Soul skills, Furious, Foray, etc. Gives players a lot more options on what they can do. Also, the Switch Axe rebalance was really needed after like, 10 years, and I pray they dont revert it.
Also, I like the Hallways. The lack of them in Rise kind of made me sad, because they're like a staple of MH, even if it was a technical limitation at the beginning.
The only thing I really want is for them to bring back mounting, instead of the silkbinding or whatever it was in Rise. I could never get the mounting without taking advantage of monsters fighting each other, makes it way less common.
I hope MH Wilds will have more monsters than World when it came out
You forgot the ones that want Capcom to do some old school MH
I'll be honest, I wont buy another Rise like game again... I just enjoyed World so much more, it's a lot more immersive.
Evidence: the wolrd subreddit is almost as big as the whole MH reddit.
This includes other forums as well, simply a bigger fan base.
And the player numbers on steam reflect that.
And look at the steam forum: the devs or atleast the community managers posted news about MH wilds here on the world forum, NOT on the rise forum.
World and Rise are already good games, but if they find a way to keep what's good about both, it could became one of, if not the best MH game, but each player like or dislike some of things considered good by some, so, they can't make it good for everyone i guess
