Insect Glaive due to having both a fun moveset that allows you to fully utilize all of the mechanics of the game(Even the clutch claw). Along with it being flexable with being able to choose between damage statuses,paralasis, or healing for the kinsects.
Its also just fun to chain air attacks to effectively fly while fighting a flying monster that's normally can't be hit in the air by melee weapons.
Gun Lance is a very fun weapon to use due to true damage and satisfying attacks...Its however the worst weapon in the game by a long shot. While also having the highest skill/deco investment of all weapons to function at high rank let alone master.
It also ironically has the worst shield in the game despite having a tower shield. This due to it not being able to either empower its block like the normal lance or use items while blocking like Sword and Shield can.
If you go for the Gun Lance expect to be sharpening a lot as it has 3-10 times durability cost on its attacks...For some reason.
Bow is a fun and semi versatile(Depends entirely on what coatings that specific bow can use). Its also the most mobile weapon in the game while also being a ranged weapon.
It is also focused on dodges to chain empowered attacks giving it a trade off between damage/status build up or safety. This makes it have a higher skill ceiling then you would expect.

Support isn't a role for everyone.
CB is a lot of fun. If you use guard point and charged shield, you already start the game with some guard skill points. Charged sword has minds eye which is also great since you won’t have much sharpness. Goes without saying that savage axe and saed are a lot of fun.
Hunting Horn is another I loved when I started a new character. In the end game, you mostly get attack up large and extended melody but while you progress the story there are so many great utility songs. Ignore environmental damage will prevent effluvia damage (not from vaal hazak), you can also get max health up, stamina, earplugs and many others. They complement the minimal resources you get from armor bonus and lack of decorations.
Lance is pretty solid from the start, it can be boring to watch a lance player but playing it and keeping the pressure on the monster feels really good. It’s a high mobility weapon once you understand how to move which is a bit weird.
Gunlance is the weirdest mobility ive ever seen. Turn back and and do backsteps towards the monster. I think it’s the weapons with most flexibility on builds? Normal, wide, long shelling plus slap lance and some other combinations. I prefer lance mobility but wyrmstake + normal shell feels amazing.
IG, my favorite part is the moveset. The attacks look amazing on the ground or in the air. I prefer to stay on the ground more often but helicopter is also fun.
Heavy bowgun. The amount of damage is insane. If you can combine your playstyle with different ammo, it really shines. You can paralyze, poison, stun enemies and more just by switching ammo. There is even tranq ammo that replaces the need of tranq bombs for capture. You can also add a shield and stay face to face with the monster.
SA in the end game, people will tend to use power phial. Exhaust isn’t that useful because it doesn’t work on elden dragons. On a new run though, there is a lot of room to experimentation with different phials. My favorite is Paralysis. I still like to use a kjar paralysis SA with critical ailment build in the endgame for sos.
DB is fun as well, beyblade on top of the monster is really cool. You can also tenderize on a single attack as part of a combo. The dodge of the demon stance is pretty cool and very powerful with a few evade window levels. Very fun match agains diablos and shara ishvalda.
Greatsword is not really my style. I play is less than the others. It rewards monster knowledge a lot and you need time to prepare. When you do and does the damage, it feels extremely good and you see big numbers.
2- Gunlance as long as you ignore the exploit, if you are abusing it you don't even know how to GL anyways.
3- SA, pure style, gets a bad reputation because of mantle ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ abuse ZSD with mantles and have no idea how to use the weapon.
4- CB, pure style too, no bad reputation but it takes 10 years to sheathe and has an awfully absurd skill tax.
5- SnS, PR abuse but the rest of the kit is fun
6- Lance, always solid and honest, but capcom hates guard
7- GS, TCS looks awful, super goofy
8- DB, nerfed dash extract made it kinda lame, can't full spin
9- Hammer, controls like ♥♥♥♥ on slides and the jumping/slide attack is retarded
10- LS, boring generic weaboo weapon for boring and generic weaboo people
