Old Monster Hunter on PC
As someone who got into gaming mostly via PC games like ZooTycoon, I never really got used to using a controller. This led me to thinking, it would be really cool if they made a port of the older games for PC, with KBM controls and maybe some slight tweaks like 60 fps. I know you can technically do this with MHF, MHFU, and MHP3rd via PPSSPP, but its SUPER janky.
I plan on trying tri on my WiiU that I bought but never used (My first console and basically no games came for it), but nonetheless I think bringing it to PC would be a great way to capitalize on the success of world

World was a success because they dropped a lot of the old mechanics, old mh is a clunky and outdated mess with mechanics from the stone age that the majority of players would not enjoy. Heck I don't even enjoy mh:gu and it's not that old.

I've seen a good amount of people new to the MH series because of World go back to the old games and actually thoroughly enjoy them, I really don't think there's going to be no new players willing to try out an older MH and end up liking it in the process, that's just unreasonable thinking. Either way, bringing older MH games officially to PC would be more for the veterans who made the switch to PC for the mods and stuff, so It truly doesn't matter If It's a huge success with the new players

Plus it would take the B team like what, 6 months? A year at most? That's not a very big time investment for something at least the veterans would buy. And unlike another skyrim re-release or Dark Souls Remastered at least there's a legitimate reason to buy it even if you have the older versions.

I would try the older MH games on PC. They seem to be on the console that I don't own, Nintendo. Since im getting a new PC for World, bringing the older games to PC would be fantastic.

They should put effort to new titles, not waste time on porting old ones.

While I don't entirely disagree, being able to play MH4U on pc legitimately would be quite nice.

But they wouldn't be wasting time, they have a team that could do this. They said that they would be hiring newer people to train to work on the next MH, so that leads me to assume that they won't be training the Frontier team that they already have in their employ to work on the next gen MH games, but Instead to work on other things. The only thing they would be "wasting" here are resources

Portable team works on the portable series, main series team now has main series and frontier teams working on the next main series game. Theres no point to work on porting old when they can work on new.

The Frontier team became apart of the portable team, or at least most of them did. Besides, I never quite said I agreed on the idea of them porting older MH games, I was taking a pretty neutral stance and refuting things that I saw as wrong. I really just want new classic MH games with a better UI, I guess one could do that with a port and mods, but a port is not truly what I'm looking for.

I'd rather they focus on porting the monsters, not the entire games - into the next installment, mind you.

Imagine... Playing classic MH games on PC without the need to pay a shoved-in subscription service to play multiplayer. Now that's something I can live with.

Ehhhhh, I whent back to MH3U a month ago and boy that game did NOT age well. There’s so many nice modern changes in World combined QoL updates to all the weapons that makes it all so much more fun to play.

At the very least, I would like to see them add official support for WiiU controllers to Monster Hunter World as the touch screen controller functions were one of the best parts of MH3U on WiiU.

It is unlikely Capcom will do this.

There is just no business case.

While it is true that a good game is not necessarily one with good graphics, good graphics and high frame rate is still a criteria for PC gamers.

Translating console controls to k&m is another piece of work especially when there will be button prompts.

Gamers also expect more than just a port. So, Capcom will need to do more than just make the same games without changing anything but the platform.

Then, there is the question of how many people will buy the games and at what price. Would people be willing to pay $30 to $60 for them and would they be worth the effort and manpower compared to simply making the next MH game?

So, while nostalgia will compell MH fans to think they want this, in reality, it's very unlikely to be profitable or done by Capcom.

That sounds like a case of "You think you do, but you don't" I don't think It's people thinking that they do but they don't, It's more like people not knowing exactly what they want. I'm telling you, a new classic style MH with monsters and areas from Frontier, with the Frontier weapons and maybe even the Accel Axe, the Accel Axe would take some work though, they could also even recreate monsters from World in it. Anyways, I'm pretty sure anyone who's interested in the older MH games would love a game like that.
