I feel very sad for you.
Because he called it "big gay al"? not the best joke but it wasn't THAT bad.
No, I actually think it's endearing when people think of dumb nicknames. I feel bad because Alatreon's equipment is worthy only of the dumpster.
There's a kid in my apartment complex who is out playing quite often when I am coming home from work or on my porch. He has one of those plastic basketball hoops for kids. The ones that are 3 or 4 feet tall and he's always out there with a little basketball.
He doesn't try to get the ball in the net though. He likes to throw it off the backboard and catch it. There's no wrong way to have fun, but he frequently, frequently, throws the ball too hard and knocks the hoop over and has to pick it up. He clearly does not like having to pick it up, and even though he is basically surrounded by walls that are far more suitable for this activity, he continues to use the hoop and knock it over.
Witnessing that is exactly what it's like to see someone hunting in Alatreon equipment.
Cool story. Now i feel sorry for you.
I'm one of the few people who actually like barioth though, so, maybe I'm a little biased. meh.
TL;DR, yeah, he's neat
I can't tell you how to feel but I also can't understand why you would feel that way. It's a pretty nice complex.
What is fun about using Alatreon's equipment? It looks very dated and the female armor is also very janky in appearance. The set bonus from the armor is a pretty lame no cost stat boost that you don't interact with in any way, and the weapons not only look ugly but also do lower numbers than their better looking counterparts.
Yeah that sucks man, people using sets you don't like? i mean the audacity. I hope you get through those days of seeing someone in that set. I know you want to give them a stern talking to on how to be a top pro player.
Why do you think I want to make other people "top pro player(s)"?
With other people frosty is a pain and the "floor is glue" gets old really quickly, stop spamming it!
The gear is quite mediocre even for GS, I saw no improvement over a regular TCS build but it looks amazing as layered.
He needs more health, he doesn't even feel like a Tempered monster lol. I think the fact he spawns in that tiny room was a last ditch effort to add a bit of difficulty to the quest, but anyone who is anyone just flinches him into the walls twice and then lures him down into the big ice room instead.
I didn't think much of his gear. A few pieces look somewhat handy, but Slugger is a useless skill outside of solo or sticky ammo, his weapons are straight up inferior in a lot of ways although some of them are interesting at least too. I couldn't find a comfortable way of combining Frostcraft and Punishing Draw + Slugger together, although it's probably a lot more comfortable if you use a Safi'Jiiva weapon with Velkhana Divinity. Critical Draw goes with Punishing Draw, but his gear has Critical Eye in it, which feels like a waste if you combine it with Critical Draw 3...you'll have 100% Affinity from that anyway and if you're buffing out your draw attacks you'll probably want to be using them a lot anyway...etc etc.
I'm probably narrow minded as usual but I just fail to see the potential his armour set or his weapons have, novelty use aside. Maybe when Velkhana Y equipment comes out it'll be fun to synergise into a Punishing, Crit Draw, Frostcraft weapon of some description...but at the moment it feels like you lose too much and have to jump through too many hoops to make it feel "nice" especially thanks to all the Critical Eye they dumped on his armour. I know you don't need to use Critical Draw with Punishing Draw especially if you reach 100% Affinity anyway, but it just feels so...ugh.
His armour looks kind of nice though, I suppose.
