Each weapons has different advantages and disadvantages so its really conditional depending on monster's weaknesses. In other words, IMO theres no number 1 THE BEST IG, however for best overall IG is

BASE GAME
- Lunastra IG (Empress Cane), my personal fav. is Empress Cane "Styx" as it has Razor sharp skill. Not elemental restricted as it has blast ailment and it also has good slots yet it has low RAW dmg.
- Kjarr Glaive Paralysis, the most IG i used in the base game as it out dmg styx w para ailments. It has disadvantage on its deco and very short white sharpness.
- Tyrannis Glaive is good for speedrun cuz of its dmg output however, its not beginner friendly as it has low sharpness and -30% affinity.

Best drag, elemental IG
- Catastrophe's Light
Adv. > Juicy blue sharpness n elder seal bonus
Disadv. > Element restricted, cant be used for monster that has drag. resistance
- Grunge Storm
Adv. > Relativelt high RAW n elder seal bonus
Disadv. > Element restricted, best to use with Handi skill as it has low blue sharpness, no deco slot, and low affinity.

I dont bother with other elemental IG as Kjarr Glaive out-dmg them with para bonus.

ICEBORNE
- Best IG for all elements is Safi's IG
- Lightbreak is good for blast along with Safi's blast IG
- Ruinous Catastrophe is good choice before grind the end game bosses

KINSECTS
I will mention these three since the rest of the kinsects are less viable from my perspective.
- Pseudocath III (Base game) or Foliacath III Forz (Iceborne) > For speed, the more you play, you will learn n understand about the monster's behaviour and eventually a slower kinsect with high power will become more beneficial.
For iceborne,
- Vezirstag III Forz > For sever power
- Gleambeetle III Medis > For blunt power
These last two are the most kinsect I used due to their attack power, however, the disadvantage is their speed. This disadvantage can be mitigated if you launch the kinsect near the monster or launch the kinsect when theres a window of opportunity (Only launch when you know it will connect and ofc, you cant play it aggressively and spam your kinsect). Furthermore, these kinsects bring a huge advantage after you applied a dust into the monster as the kinsect will constantly deal bigger amount of dmg compared to Foliacath.

Glaive bonus/buff
I love blast dust kinsect and my personal fav, is Spirit and Strength Boost as any slinger ammo will buff the stamina and power of the kinsect. Other than Spirit n strength is speed boost.

Do not underestimate the power of kinsect, IG is a powerful weap if the hunter know how to utilize the glaive and its kinsect at the same time. e.g. A flawless run (No hit) with only Glaive unable to suppress Alatreon's elements yet a decent run while utilizing both glaive n kinsect able to suppress Alatreon's element relatively easier.

I might forgot to mention other IG but these are the current IG that are in my mind. I prefer to use IG that is easy to fit into my build and doesnt require any hard decos at start (i.e. Nergi's IG for higher RAW n long sharpness and Lunastra IG for its free razor sharp) then gradually use the top IG with a higher difficulty to fit. Meaning, there's no point using Tyrannis Glaive if you cant use handi and affinity up skills as this actually will result in a low dmg output.

I would love to hear other ppl opinion and their personal fav. too >.<

Kinsect Only Glaive

I believe there's nothing gating you from feeding ammo to your Kinsects. If so, you have access to the Kinsect Only playstyle and the best Glaive for this in both base world as well as Iceborne is Water Glaive III as this has the most deco slots of any "Element Boost" glaive. You can put the maximum World Health Augments on it and either keep it as is throughout endgame OR upgrade it to MR levels with Laguna Glaive II for better mounts, max Defense augments and a Health Augment (as well as layered weapon options). I found upgrading it to MR to be the better option as I'd rather be able to take a hit better than to recover more health after taking a bigger hit.

The Kinsect I prefer is Foliacath II because it can tear apart any part of a monster rather easily and effectively cut tails when helping someone level or grind armor. Mounting is only a bonus for other people in the group while you're otherwise not using your glaive to attack.

This is the only thing that matters when it comes to Kinsects.
