Defense boost is just utterly worthless; it can go in the bin.
Attack Boost can be lowered from 5 to 4; the primary benefit is the affinity boost.
Focus is...I dunno, I don't play longsword (or at least, not well). What openings does it give you?
In place of these, I would add Heat Guard (to prevent tick damage from phase 3), Fire Resistance 3 (to stack with the canteen buff to prevent fireblight and get a bit of a buffer on any build), and Healthboost 3. You could also throw on Partbreaker if you struggle with the head, and Divine Blessing and Fortify if you're dying a lot.
Raging Brachy Helm
Gold Rathian Armor
Raging Brachy Gloves
Golden Rathian Belt
Raging Brachy Legs
Agitator Charm
That gives you Divine Blessing 5, Agitator 7, Weakness Exploit 3 and a lot of deco slots to fill.
You can change the legs with Garuga (if you lack Critical Eye decos), Kulve (if you lack Critical Boost decos) or even Furious Rajang (if you lack good Health Boost decos).
As for skills, priority should be Health Boost 3, Evade Extender 2/3, Critical Boost 3 and then getting as close to 100 affinity as you can. You may want to slot 1 or 2 Fire Resistance decos to get to 20 Resistance and use the canteen to get Safeguard, which gives you an additional cart.
Replace Defense Boost with Divine Blessing
Defense Boost sucks
Kaiser helm beta
brachydium torso beta
kaiser vambraces beta
kaiser coil beta
brachydium greaves beta
Challenger charm V
This gets you as a baseline:
Master's Touch set bonus
Agitator 7
WEX 3
Critical eye 2
Blast attack 2 - mostly irrelevant but it works with lightbreak edge, which boasts better raw than the Darkscythe (30 base higher)
Heat guard which actually helps in phase 3 of the fight
You have plenty of room to max out Crit Boost 3, Health Boost 3, add in Shaver, and the story gives you a free Expert+ deco early on. With an expert+, an expert/fortify and either another expert+ or two size 1 expert decos, you max out critical eye. Even with that there is a few free decoration slots to devote to your preferences
If you are playing a solo hunt, you can take Temporal Mantle and slot in Heavy Artillery decos into the mantle itself so that you can get 100% bonus damage with the roaming ballista and be very safe while on board thanks to the mantle, but in multiplayer the siege weapons contribute far less total and it's better to just bind and attack directly

If you want the short version, build full comfort/stay alive skills. Divine blessing, evade window, evade extender, health boost, recovery up, speed eating, free meal, handicraft, fortify, etc, are all going to be better than attack boost 30 or critical eye 100. Dying once pretty much offsets the benefit of any/all your damage skills.
"anti fatalis builds" are cringe retardation. Elemental damage is only good on low damage number weapons such as bow and dual blades (and alatreon due to it's elemental dps check).
Stop worrying about damage, get a comfort build, stop spamming attacks, watch speedruns to learn the openings, and focus on learning the fight, positionings, attack animations, etc.
