- Defender hammer lasted me a pretty long time, it is better than all easly MR weapons, and the blast makes it just as good as most of their first upgrades.
- First Hammer I switched to was Final upgrade of Kulu hammer. It has absurdly good stats when compared to the rest of the weapons from the same rarity. It also has long white sharpness and affinity, everything you may want. Also no element or status, so non-elemental boost makes it even better.
- Last hammer was, and is currently Shara Ishvalda hammer. It's a little weaker than Acidic Glavenus, but I will gladly sacrifice 10 true raw for two more deco slots and a much better sharpness. Also, the looks alone are worth the damage drop. Slapping monsters never gets old.
I probably won't switch to anything else for a very long time, until we get a better hammer from the new monsters.
I didn't really like the Diablos one, although the +35 Defence was nice I guess. It can get up to a sliver of purple sharpness with Handicraft but I've never been a fan of that skill myself. I did try a janky Handicraft 5 + Protective Polish combination with it but that meant I had to drop Earplugs 5 and that was kinda a deal breaker for me.
I broke out Anja's final Hammer for Velkhana because of the 600 Fire Element damage but it seemed to suck so I swapped to the Glavenus one for that, seemed a little better - you could probably skip that one entirely though. I only used it like maybe three times in total.
Also the final boss Hammer was interesting and sort of meme-ish, not as good as the ones already mentioned but it looks hilarious so I used it for a while, you barely notice a difference honestly things still die just as fast, but eh, not 100% efficient as far as a Hammer goes I suppose.
That basically concludes my Hammer journey. I considered replacing the Taroth Sleep with Kulu's really early but it was extremely hard to let go of the health augment so I held on until it started feeling really weak.
I've also spotted Nargacuga and the vast pools of purple sharpness I think it provides at one point but I never bothered checking it out, it might be really good though but I couldn't say. You don't really need that much sharpness on a Hammer because it hits a lot less times than other weapons, but having giant chunks of it is nice to have, I guess.
