Monster Hunter: World
TIL there is a mod that allows light weapons to tenderize in one attack.
https://www.nexusmods.com/monsterhunterworld/mods/1981

I hate tenderizing and it's a pain in the ass with gunlance having longer claw shot animation than greatsword which tenderizes in one attacks, and it also kills all the solo potential the base game had, but this mod is at least something

That seems like the extra nudge they really didn't need (Safi weapons, not 'light' weapons)

Maybe they didn't need it from the perspective of how powerful they are. I think this is more of an answer to how awkward it felt to have to double tenderize. It's mostly a QoL change, especially for solo players. I don't mind the indirect power increase or imbalance it might create, I'm just glad it feels less awkward.
I get the impression all weapons probably should have been able to do both a 'light' attack and a 'heavy' attack on separate inputs. both performing the functions they currently do.

Would also help the secondary problem 'light' weapons can experience of burning through a monster's reserve of slinger pods when they'd much rather have just wounded it since they've already got all the pods they could want for the moment. Would also benefit the 'heavy' weapons that can make use of pods in their combos and such.

Lmao, placing so little value on slinger ammo when it's one of the key ingredients to even make the CC worth using. Plus every weapon gets good utility with slinger bursts now. If heavies got the ability to drop slinger ammo from a CC attack, that would make heavies too good over lights. But nah, let's just be an ignoramus who thinks soft spots are the only worthwhile use for the CC. Which they aren't. Jesus, some of you need to actually learn to play IB instead of making blind assumptions about what you think the game favors. Sounds a lot like "knowing better than Capcom" to me, and that sounds like an oddly familiar accusation in this thread...

Yeah I totally need 4 full packs of slinger ammo before I can weaken the monster once and then have no remaining ammo for the rest of the fight .. awesome!

Are you being intentionally dense? Having a constant supply of slinger ammo makes it much easier to control the fight. You DO realize the stronger slinger ammo that falls from monsters has a lot more stun value than just popping it in the face with red pits as well, right? Honestly, anybody who downplays the significance of slinger ammo, ESPECIALLY after IB upgraded it from "meh" to "absolutely essential resource", is beyond help.

you seem to have a problem understanding words
Yeah, you're just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. But I already knew that and should have opted not to waste my time. Have fun struggling needlessly in this game, my dude.

Then why give me a useless clutch attack if ammo is everywhere anyway?

eh... for Gunlance (and maybe IG) the quality of the slinger ammo does matter as it significantly increases the duration of your WSB.

Which is precisely why people shouldn't be focusing on tenderising with a weapon like a Gunlance that simply doesn't give a ♥♥♥♥ about part softening because most, potentially even all, of it's damage is pure and not boosted by it.

Which is precisely why you shouldn't be doing as the OP sounds like they're doing. i.e. focusing on tenderising with a weapon like a Gunlance that simply doesn't give a ♥♥♥♥ about part softening because most, potentially even all, of it's damage is pure and not boosted by it.

I literally couldnt care less about the fact that the part is tenderized or not, I just dont want my weapon to bounce of endlessly of the monster or have to try to somehow get a 10second+ window in where I can grapple, slap 3 times, and then get an entire combo out just to get one part attackable for a short time

There's this wonderful skill in the game called "Mind's eye", fits in a level 2 deco slot. If you don't want to be bothered by bounces, and can't be arsed to find/make a spot where you wont, just use that.

Yeah, or just give me the option to tenderize parts ?! Like, effectively?

Or at least dont make the enjoyment of all light weapons dependent on an RNG drop of a decoration? This is not a solution.

Who cares, just play the game and don't bother about what other people are doing. What is it to you if somebody wants to cheat and make their game easier? It's their problem.

FYI Safi weapons tenderize in a single hit, so it will become an actual thing eventually.
Light Safi weapons can’t tenderize in one hit .
Forcing clutch claw to tenderize was the dumbest gimmick they added.
I prefer just beating on the same part to tenderize it.

Getting mixed answers here.

Some people say Safi weapons do, others don't.

Would be nice to have a definitive answer.

A single guy said it twice and thats it, like 5 people have already said they dont.

Not that hard to figure out
