TIL there is a mod that allows light weapons to tenderize in one attack.
https://www.nexusmods.com/monsterhunterworld/mods/1981

I hate tenderizing and it's a pain in the ass with gunlance having longer claw shot animation than greatsword which tenderizes in one attacks, and it also kills all the solo potential the base game had, but this mod is at least something

That seems like the extra nudge they really didn't need (Safi weapons, not 'light' weapons)

Maybe they didn't need it from the perspective of how powerful they are. I think this is more of an answer to how awkward it felt to have to double tenderize. It's mostly a QoL change, especially for solo players. I don't mind the indirect power increase or imbalance it might create, I'm just glad it feels less awkward.
I get the impression all weapons probably should have been able to do both a 'light' attack and a 'heavy' attack on separate inputs. both performing the functions they currently do.

Would also help the secondary problem 'light' weapons can experience of burning through a monster's reserve of slinger pods when they'd much rather have just wounded it since they've already got all the pods they could want for the moment. Would also benefit the 'heavy' weapons that can make use of pods in their combos and such.

Well Im not judging you but I wouldn't use it. You can slap a monster 3 times when you clutch to it then tenderize and it will be counted as twice. Also re-tenderizing a tenderized part refresh the timer so you don't have to tenderize twice.

Straight up cheating.

wai-wai-wai-waitaminute. You care about tenderising... with a Gunlance?!

Gunlance dgaf about tenderising cause shelling dgaf about tenderising. The only reason a Gunlance clutches is to get slinger ammo for WSB or wallbangs, Otherwise you're wasting the monster's reserves of slinger ammo.

Takes a good 15 seconds every 90 seconds and can only be used when the monster is downed for a long time or not enraged, totally unenjoyable gameplay

doesn't work that way with light weapons, you have to tenderize twice again to refresh

Something tells me you don't even play light weapons or lack the capacity to understand wounding at all so why post?

Wow you know you can distract a monster with pods then clutch to them, slap 3 times so their head faces the wall then flinch shot them. When they are knocked down you can tenderize them and it counts as fully tenderized. Also I have been running mostly Bow since Iceborne so I know what i'm doing.

This thread again?

Who cares, just play the game and don't bother about what other people are doing. What is it to you if somebody wants to cheat and make their game easier? It's their problem.

FYI Safi weapons tenderize in a single hit, so it will become an actual thing eventually.

Clearly you don't know anything because what you just described is covered by the part where I said "or is not enraged", considering you can't claw slap a monster and also flinch it when it's enraged

Nobody said anything about doing it on an enraged monster, that's just you not understanding the discussion at all. You can re-tenderize in a single hit even with light weapons, it's you who doesn't undersatnd the mechanic. Being enraged has nothing to do with tenderizing. Please, don't correct people when you don't know how things work yourself.

Perhaps not optimal but rock steady and temporal mantles allow you to safely clutch claw and tenderize with 3 smacks even when enraged, but you miss out on throwing them in a wall. :/

So people need this mod because they are playing the game wrong?

Actually, to extend a wound you need to tenderize two times with light weapons.

I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate how insted of fixing their old ♥♥♥♥ they add fixes in new. Yeah, Seliana is a better hub, doesn't means Astera doesn't needs repositioned NPCs/more fast traveling options and a cat outside of your room.

Also, it's called gunlance, not just gun. wide sweep does insane damage, and you can't exactly blast off tails too. And you can't spam full bursts cause of recovery time on it...

I don't give a crap about others cheating on their own, but when it affects the gameplay of others, then it becomes an issue, beneficial or not.

Except mods that show HP. I will fight hunters who use those mods.

When the game is more fun to you like that install this mod but just dont play online with it.
Most people dont want to win against a monster with gameplay manipulating mods.
