Hunter Rank Progress Forfeited with Iceborne?
Hello!

I recently got Iceborne but before the DLC I was stuck at HR 59 because I had to do a mission to increase it. Usually to get past this stalling of HR the player would need to complete the mission and your HR progress would continue and all the time and hunts put in would still be marked in the background.

I noticed that with Iceborne my HR went up to 60 even without doing the mission that was stalling my HR. Does this mean that my background calculated HR progress was lost or if I complete the mission that was holding back my progress that I will get my true HR value back?

Hmm, honestly couldnt say. Only one way to find out I'm afraid.

HR doesn't do anything anymore though so there is that glimmer of light I suppose. The grind starts all over again with MR.

They uncapped HR, now it'll increase even if you didn't do the quests to uncap it. This does not apply to the main story as far as I know. And I would assume if you didn't get a big jump in HR after getting uncapped that means your backlogged exp was trashed. Whomp whomp.

Part of loading into iceborne is the game removing the HR cap and auto-flagging the HR29 and HR49 quests as complete. So, HR60 is where you should be had you actually done the HR49 quest.
