crit element and true crit element
Hey i like to use elemental weapons in mh, so velkhana and silver rathalos armor were cool options to me

we have two armors in the game which gives us crit element:

velkhana armor crit element
silver rathalos tru crit element

so i wanted to know how big the difference in dmg is between true crit and normal crit element

i tested it on pillar in trainingarea with ls and db with same skillsetup etc.

the pillar takes 2 more dmg per hit with ls and 1 more dmg per hit with db when using true crit element

1-2 dmg per hit difference between true crit and normal crit ele..

idk if i did something wrong but i feel like there is no difference between true crit and normal crit ele.. ^^

I don’t know why you test with LS. LS does not benefit much from elemental damage.

As for the pillar, you need to take into account tenderized parts which will enlarge the difference. Change the settings in the training area so that you can test tenderized parts.

I’m wondering what skills you have on your DB because crit element and true crit element are not the only damage affecting factors and if you use other skills to buff the damage, the difference will be enlarged by velkhana/silver ratholos set bonus.

Critical Element is a 1.35x multiplier on DB
True Critical Element is a 1.55x multiplier on DB
Might change for other weapons

A good video but off the topic. We are talking about crit element or true crit element.

okay ls might not be good for checking crit element but "problem" is the same with the db i used

i made two armor sets

1)
2 parts of velkhana to get crit ele and some other armor pieces to get crit boost, weakness exploit, crit eye

2)
4 parts of silver rathalos to get true crit ele , also with crit eye, crit boost, weakness exploit

the only stat that changed with the two different sets are crit ele and true crit ele.

so..

true crit element says : GREATLY increases elemental dmg when landing critical hits.

crit element says: increases element dmg when landing critical hits

my point is that i thought, wearing the silver rathalos armor will increase my dmg even more compared to velkhana armor while using elemental weapons with the remaining skills/stats being the same..

but it didnt increased very much.. :/

Ugh, i hate it when stats in games are 100% pointless noob traps when it comes to min-maxing.

Well attack boost isn't really a trap the title is a bit clickbait, it's just with the way damage scales upward in MR that crit becomes more valuable than the flat true raw attack boost grants. Attack boost is still great caveat being you get it after you've stacked crit up to 100/near 100%.

make sure you have enough affinity for it to be effective (ide say above 85%).
i might be wrong but i think that it only effect the elemental damage of the attack, so a 20% difrenece increese in damage on crit sound like a lot but its not that much, unlese you have very high elemental damage.

attack got worse becouse every weapon now has hight amount of RAW and the values the decoration gives are still for vanilla MH.

and should be since is the whole reason to use silver rath armor, the damage increase its huge between normal/true, its no brainer for Bow/DB/SnS users.

a main factor for very high elemental damage. but if you use bowguns with base elemental damage that can only be increased by the elemental skill. think about it as an extreme long range weapon firing from sniping distance that can make you easily dodge AOE attacks chipping as much small additional damage portions within comfort zone but due to a quasi piercing ability will hit more on large targets like 1-2 more times.

yeah, elemental shots were pretty much the meta for farming Kulve's first 3 phases. i had like 2k thunder bugs at one point, i stopped farming them when i farmed her and now i got like 300...
