Barroth breaker 1

when i click and look at barroth breaker in make weapons it says i need barroth cortex x1 barroth crown x1 barroth carapeace x3 dragonrelic x1

but when i click on upgarde item the matrerials are diffrent

Barroth Claw + x2, Barroth Carapace x3, Barroth Ridge + x 2, Kestodon Carapace x 5,

also when i look on anywebsite about the weapon it says the materials i need are
Barroth Claw + x2, Barroth Carapace x3, Barroth Ridge + x 2, Kestodon Carapace x 5

Am i doing somthing wrong or is this an iceborn update as the barroth crown is a Mhw iceborn item which its telling me its need for a rarity 5 item anyone shed some light on this for me

Typically to forge an item you need rarer materials than it would take to upgrade to it. You often need gems (typically the rarest High Rank materials) to forge items meanwhile only needing common parts to upgrade to it.

In this particular case it was not possible to directly forge this weapon prior to Iceborne. So it seems they decided to technically keep it that way by locking its forgeability behind Master Rank materials.

Looking at it, yeah. You need MR mats, so if you don’t have Iceborne and access to MR. you can’t upgrade.
