Technically, Capcom can't ban you for anything.
In fact, the actual cheaters and hackers defeated that system within a few hours of it being added. Likewise after the patch came out, it was again defeated within hours.
MHW doesn't really have a ban system in general.
Rather, other players can kick you from their session. Likewise, if a user is on the player's block list, they'll be barred from joining that session.
Do you know what message the blocked player see when they try to join? I remember the confusion of people crying in the chat because some had them blocked haha Good times those were... Man, how I miss this game...
That’s a troll. Unless you crack the MHW. exe. You aren’t getting banned.
hahaha Oh, man, you are funny. Now you will have trouble listening to the The Delgados xD
The antitamper, anticheat, and other awful bloatware that's hurting everyone's performance is there to prevent people from easily accessing Iceborne content without paying.
I'd say at the very least it won't be too long, if not already here before we see mods/hacks that implement the clutch claw and new movesets for base game owners as it should have been in the first place. I'd assume it wouldn't take much more than a hotkey/key combination to inject the command through a trainer or memory editor.
So no, you won't get banned for using mods. In fact, there is no banning or blacklisting in this game. However do expect a potential cat and mouse game where everything may break following updates.
The anticheat is there to “attempt” to keep that from happening. Transmog is weird, because it could access what is already there WITHOUT cracking the exe open. So people using transmog could in theory get away with using IB armors as layered.
Someone should test that.
If you wanted to, you could modify any armor set you like and change it's stats to the be the same as an iceborne set, then just do a texture/model swap or transmog over. As was said, all the assets are there and just hidden unless you pay money. Assuming some sort of check prevented you from just giving yourself the iceborne gear directly.
Ah, yeah. That would be the anticrack working then, nice. If it’s hidden, then the transmog can’t touch those assets unless it gets cracked.
I wouldn't say it's working, it just hasn't been done yet as far as I know. I'm only assuming that it wouldn't work just giving yourself iceborne items. I haven't tried it, it might actually work lol. If it didn't work then you could use the asset/model swap which would only work client side. Have to read up on current modding and hacking boards to see what's available so far.
One thing I'm interested in right now is what would happen if you take a save with master rank gear and stats then changed the steamID and loaded it up on a copy of just the base game. Likely need the CRC bypass the items stay, what part is actually pay-walled, once you have the items or past the initial quest line can you access still access anything?
