600+ hours in and I STILL can't tell the difference between a Rathian and a Rathalos :(

Ones green(rathian) ones red(rathalos), if you're brain can't handle simple colors you might need to see a doctor, ones pink(rathian) ones blue(rathalos), once again, same with gold and silver.

Colour blindness exists (iirc almost 1 in 10 men have it. Less common in women, and the red-green variant is the most common one). Well, even if you were completely colour blind, you should still be able to differentiate between the two based on their behavior and build.

Rathalos is the one that keeps poisoning you even after you chop the tail off.

That's Rathian wtih the poison tail.
Rathalos has the undodgeable poison claw attack.

I had the Optional Quest for hunting down two Rathalos. Regular and the Azure one in the forest. Fought a Rathian for the first 10 minutes of the fight thinking that was one of the Rathalos.

Part of the problem was that I was fighting the Rathian and Rathalos at the same time. I was just thinking that I needed to kill 2 flying Wyvern and wasn't too concerned about the species. Took me almost a half an hour to beat those two into submission and then it dawned on me that I had to find the Azure Rathalos who was taking a little nap on the other side of the map.

Ive slain so many rath its the easiest monster for me now. Even gold and silver are no issue. Silver is a bit meh since he flies all the time but he has less hp than gold so just chip at him and he will die also i think he does less damage.
