Interesting feature, I guess.
I found this out pretty quickly since the first thing I did when I got that research quest was check the expedition map. "Oh, hey, there's Velkhana, guess I'll go there." That's also why it leaves immediately after being discovered, so you won't actually kill it before you're supposed to.
I kind of wonder what would happen if a team nuked it on sight. They probably made it invincible so it can't die before it leaves, but it would be interesting to see someone test out.
Assuming it's the same with Velkhana, it'll either be impossible to kill or when killed it won't count in your log, and you'll just carve Wyvern Tears / Dragon Treasures etc.
Makes sense. I got a topple on Velkhana when I saw it and it only dropped a Tear.
It seems like Tears are the only items that drop from all monsters I haven't killed or captured yet.
i tried fighting her but, couldnt break a dang thing she didnt stick around for very long.
